Being a top manager has very little to do with being a top player.
As usual I'll disagree with a lot of people (except the above post from SA).

Why would we want a manager with Champions league experience? If he's available he obviously wasn't very good at it! All managers with Champions League experience started without it and were good enough to eventually get it! Eddie Howe does have Champions League experience - last year he played 8 games against Leicester, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City (and he beat us too) Not saying he should be our manager but he's not bad!

I quite like the sound of "Mystery Man", there's something about him I quite like the sound of ...

As for Eddie Howe ... personally, I'm not coninvced he's right for us at this stage. Right now, I think we need someone with experience of managing in Europe, and as good as Howe is, he doesn't have that experience.

Please note I said "some" and "think" I of course know that they are all wrong but I don't bother to labour the point otherwise they'll stop making my tea, cleaning my house, washing and ironing my clothes and cooking my meals. Oh, and there is one other thing they do for me but that isn't the sort of thing to be discussed on a family website such as this.

It's ok Godders, we're all grown up here (sometimes). It's not taboo to discuss the changing of colostomy bags anymore.

Think it will be a Pochittino kind of announcement / appointment, where we will only hear about it the day before announced, and that will be the first inkling we'll all get of the name.
The managers ruling themselves out are probably doing so as they know they're not going to get the job, so a way of saving face.
No need to panic. YET.
Lol

I see from oddschecker that counting yourself out or even fooling people by signing for another club doesn't stop people betting on you.

One site is offering 50/1 for an England win to new customers....that is ridiculous...of course Russia could win or get a draw, not a foregone conclusion, but 50/1 on an England win?!

Are you sure?

I agree with those who don't think we should go for Eddie Howe. Mainly because he is such a good fit at Bournemouth and they would not forgive us BUT if he were in Europe we would be salivating at the prospect. Why do we down English managers for being nice??

My choice (ignoring those who have declared no interest) would be a dream team of Neville and Giggs. I'm not too concerned about Valencia and see that as a place where he will have learnt a lot and with giggs to help him....
