Well like yourselves, we have been trading predominantly on freebies and loans - Keogh and Lowry are the first players we have spent money on and that is only this month.

Think we spent less on those 2 than you did on Pugh <ok>

I think Paul Lambert should get the job. Be interesting to see how he does managing a big club.

Looking at Warnock's record, I think that would count as a step forward. Whether it will work in practice is another matter. But I don't want another manipulable young bloke for Bates to hang out to dry by pinning the blame on him while he snatches players from under his nose and fails to keep the core of a good team. That's why we need a fighter and someone with some resilience about them.

Bates is two-and-two-thirds as old as Robinson for goodness' sake!

I just wish Keane, Bruce & Ince would hurry up & rule themselves out.

Their silence is extremely worrying!

Alan Smith would have made a great player/manager for us.

Don't discount Shearer taking up the job.

Somebody told me Shearer was interested in the job. Can't say if that's 100% accurate info. However the bloke that told me does have close ties to the club.

Put it this way. I would rather an inexperienced Shearer than a clown like Bruce or Ince.

Warnock is a non starter. Take my word for it.

He has quoted to paper that he wants the job. No need for close ties to the club

Looks like it might be Clark. Apparently we've made enquiries to Huddersfield. Would prefer someone older and more experienced but it wouldn't be the worst case scenario...

Oops, just realised the same link was posted in another thread. Sorry.

And didn't see Look North, but what were his exact words when he ruled himself out? He obviously isn't going to say "yes, i'm going to Leeds" at this stage is he? Of course he's going to deny it and i'll take what he has said with a pinch of salt...
