A poster implied that Warnock spent a lot of money getting promotion .Well for a start he won,t get anyfrom BATES and secondly I don,t know where he spent a lot of money he bought Taarbat for i millionbut I can,t think of anyother big buys apart from Hulse perhaps . I would think if he came to us he would bring in Hulse and Derry
We need to keep in mind that Warnock spent more money at QPR last year than we've spent in Bates' entire time here.
it doesn't really matter. An average wage of 8k a week isn't a low amount for a championship club, i'd say based on that top earners were around 13-14k a week, could be wrong though. Noriwch have a wage cap of 11k a week. Anyway just seen that Ince is trying to get the job and bates is considering him, i wouldn't be happy if that happened http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11715/7474303/Ince-in-frame-for-Leeds-job And also Gus Poyet has ruled himself out of the job (which is annoying coz he would do a fantastic job imo) http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7474460/No-Leeds-return-for-Poyet
God please not Ince! He's ****e! But he's probably cheaper than the other candidates so will most likely get it...
Norwich spent 12m on wages in LEAGUE ONE. We're spending 12m on not just wages, but transfer and agent fees too in the CHAMPIONSHIP. It's not competitive. please log in to view this image Same as Watford and Barnsley on wages, then. With no depth to our squad and a wage cap.
we were also spending that much in league 1 then and since being in the championship it has dropped down from that to 9m-11m? Although that says championship for some reason Also that wouldn't be entirely accurate either, its more an estimate. Also Norwich who are well known to have a wage cap of 12k a week have a squad size of just 26 players. So lets assume and average wage cap of around 7k a week for them (and they are a prem club remember) then they are spending 182k a week or a budget of 9,464,000 which is less than what we are spending on wages.
FOOTBALL BBC Sport's Dan Roan on Twitter: "Hearing from those who should know that Ken Bates' preferred choice as new manager of Leeds Utd is Huddersfield's Lee Clark, & not Warnock."
Correct. We've actually cut wages, if Bates' statement is to be believed. Those figures are from the accounts so they're trustworthy. It's from the 09-10 accounts when we were in League One, but obviously accounts are released a season behind due to the April deadline. It's from the Swiss Rambler blog which looked at all the Championship clubs' accounts from the previous year and compiled those figures. Obviously you can't deny that the amount we're spending is simply not enough to be successful. They had a 12k cap in the Championship. Not any more. They're not that stupid - and let's not forget that they spent three times as much as us on transfer fees too so they could get good up-and-coming players who wouldn't want big wages like many of the allegedly "shrewd" free transfers always seem to.
Di Canio's now ruled himself out. What are your figures for this season? It's impossible to say that unless you're judging by two-three years ago.
Our wage bill has stayed the same since League 1 - yours has gone up. So probably spending more than double what we are
Proof? Proof? The figures I quoted were for transfer fees, wages and agent fees. We probably are spending more than you, but I highly doubt it's double, if you take ALL THREE of those lines of expenditure into account.
We have got rid of our highest paid players (Harris & Morison) players we have bought in are from League 1. You have replaced League 1 players (Beckford, Schmeichel, Parker etc) with Premiership players (O'Brien, Brown, Forsell etc) Doesn't take Einstein to work out who is paying big wages and who isn't
So you've ignored my thing about transfer/agent/wage fees combined and told me our wage bill has gone up when there's evidence to the contrary (Swiss Rambler table + Bates' statements). OK. Like I say, we are spending more than you (as we should be), but I doubt twice as much, and it's obviously still not enough.
