Sunderland is an interesting comparison to be fair.
Board taking all kinds of belters throughout pre-season.
Made a. Left-field appointment.
Made the right appointment didn't they?
Even if they don't sustain it.
They're punching above their weight and have a bit of momentum.
On the other hand....
We could have Erling Haaland up front for us and nothing would change as he would never get the service he needs.A key factor at Sunderland though is that through all the managerial termoil of the last year or two, the playing staff have actually stayed relatively stable. They've gone from young and inexperienced to not quite so young and more experienced, and actually look like a team that wants to play together in a system they're all used to.
The only reason I can see for keeping Walter (and I don't think we will) is that he's not had time to build the experience, confidence and ability in our newly assembled young team yet. That and the fact that he's been shafted with three poor/inexperienced/past it strikers.
Gary O'Neil anyone?
He's a decent manager.
Van Nistelrooy will be out of a job after the international break, would be a pretty high profile capture if he doesn't stay on when Amorim arrives.
Maybe Mourinho's on his way after criticising Turkish football.

I wouldn't at all be surprised, get him here with a big bonus if he gets us promoted. After what he said recently about wanting to come back and taking on a smaller team..... Acun would love it as all the attention would be on him/the club etc as well and they have a good relationship
Stranger things have happened
Incompetence, mismanagement or corruption?Walter will be the fall guy for board incompetence,
How about our club record signing who's worked as a coach under Pochettino, Mourinho, Conte and Postecoglou?
Stick with him thanks. Feel bad for Acun, called a crazy owner but asked to do crazy owner things so can't win.
Club record signing by the Allam’s.Is mason our club record?
I saw he was meant to go to anderlecht
What a player he was though, that injury still haunts me
Can't see where RVN fits into Manure's new management structure as Amorim is taking his backroom staff there
So, after complaining about us appointing a German with no experience of managing in the Championship some people would thing it a good idea to appoint a Dutchman with only two unsuccessful seasons of management in Holland?
Tony Mowbray for me, championship experience and good with a young squad. Plays decent football aswell, sure I’ve read his health is better now
