Hope so. But I'm not ready or willing to excuse or explain away Willock's lack of effort or forgive his unwillingness to play his part because of some delusions to being a football purist who regards some managers' football as beneath him.
Don't think it is that, I honestly think that since that recurrence of the thigh injury, that he's lost all self confidence and he's afraid of it occurring again and ending his career. You don't suddenly go from playing like he was to being as **** as Carlton Palmer overnight no matter who the manager is. I believe its 100% in his head , and in which case its gonna be very hard to recapture the player he was !

I rarely watch stuff like this, but that was quite good. As he says, a risky but exciting appointment. Begovic as an auxiliary CB is a terrifying thought, though.
I might be a bit Last of the Summer Wine but I rather enjoyed the days when you went to a match, read about it in the papers the next day, perhaps talked about it to your mates in the pub, then went to the next match. On a Saturday or a Wednesday at 3:00 or 7:30. I’ve reached saturation point with this 24/7 multi media coverage, endless statistical analysis, pre and post match interviews, fans blogs, etc etc. Though I suppose if it creates employment it’s not entirely bad.

So I didn’t watch it. Who is the risk for, him or us? Both I’d argue.

The risk is almost all ours, I'd say. The length of his contract will be highly significant. Exciting, though

Is there any chance the board will stump up the funds for him to bring in Bojanic from his former club ? Looks a serious player, at least at Championship level.

I'd tend to agree with you, but this was sent to me by a mate who recommended it. Can't promise I didn't skip over parts though.

Agree that Begovic as a sweeper is a scary thought, and hopeful that he'll be able to get Willock and Chair back to their best.

Not to mock, but I applaud this chap’s ability to monetise whatever syndrome he has…….

Cifuentes coached Sandefjord for two seasons recently. It's only a 20 minute drive for me, so I go for a handfull games each season even though they're not the team i support.
What makes him stand out for me is that they have never been better than under him, not before and not after.
He has his own way of playing, very possesion based, but most importantly he plays on the front foot. Takes charge of games, and he made them able to take on and outplay far better teams with many times the budget he was on. Something they've never come close to since. The reason they parted was simply because they couldn't agree terms. Believe the contract saga lasted half a season, in the end he went to Denmark doubling his salary.
For me, this is defintely the way forward for the club. Finally excited again! Would love to see Colin back but don't see where that would get us?
