I fear we might have appointed the right man at the wrong time. He seems to be just the kind of coach we should gave got in when Beale buggered off, but his methods may take more time to bear fruit than we actually have available now. Hope I'm wrong.

Good luck Marti.
Was thinking exactly the same; but it’s still October so hopefully we can turn it around in time. Then think longer term next summer.

Really happy with this. I don't know much about him but it's good to look outside the usual suspects and it seems he will at least try and get some style of play happening which would have to be better than what we've had so far. Give him time and support. Welcome Marti...

You mentioned time to settle in.
When do we start the stop watch?

Jesus Christ it’s just dawned on me that we actually had a plan this time. Fingers crossed it the right one, but I’m quite excited by this appointment. Massive task with a demoralised squad but presumably Marti knows what he’s let himself in for.
He can’t be blind. Our current plight on and off the pitch is well documented, yet he still took the job. He’s going into this with his eyes wide open.

Why are you all so down

Our rabble ...as you call them, were bought in to play football, some by Warburton, some by Beale, some we developed ourselves.

They were not built to play hoof ball, and be aggressive thugs.

Quite a few of them will be happy to play a calmer, more possession based form of football.
It said in the managers blurb he likes to play with 2 fluid no10s. We have some excellent no10s waiting to play like that.

I can see Chair, Willock, Richards and Smyth thriving.

Get all our players back from suspension...
And I can see a steady climb up the table.

How we are going to pay for this without breaching FFP, I have no idea though

Welcome Marti and wishing you immense success for years to come.

This is going to be an interesting object lesson in how much difference a manager with a good track record can make with a group who were doing so well at the start of last season but are now adrift and demoralised as surely they must be after all those losses.

Seems appropriate Rotherham are up next as they've bettered us the last few games when we probably should have beaten them.

As ever, COYRs.

He turned us down because we couldn't afford what he wanted to be paid a year ago with no transfer budget.. so what's changed? How much has Ruben lobbed in to renaming the stadium so he can get us out of the ****?
I heard we couldn't afford to pay Hammarby the compensation they wanted last December. Now further into his contract it's less probably and we may be helped by the stadium naming.

Matrade - though it's probably a front for the Malaysian drug cartels to wash their money knowing our luck <laugh>

The naming rights give us about 1.2 million over 3 years.

We cannot pay off Ainsworth and get Cefeuntis in on a long deal for that amount ( 400k) of money

Marti appointed.
I think he’s the perfect fit for the club.
I’m going to start making Martini’s with my gin!
Welcome aboard indeed and here’s hoping he’s the answer - what was the question again?

I’m going to make some more gin for those martinis…. I have 50l of ferment going on at the moment for the Xmas spirit…. Going to need it, have depleted much stock getting through this season so far
