People are more annoyed at what it represents.

It’s a kit designed for the Championship, on a deal that’s been undersold, made by a rugby kit manufacturer who’s mates with our COO.

It shows a complete lack of commercial acumen, ambition and fore planning, something that has plagued our commercial department for years.
Has the deal been undersold? I have no idea what we're being paid but I'd have thought there'll be stipulations in the deal for whatever division we turned out to be playing in.

Appreciate that some may like it, but I fear many more won't. Personally, I think it's woeful. I appreciate it's supposed to be an homage to a classic kit, but to me it just looks really amateurish. It looks like it's been chosen from a primary school kids 'design a kit' competition. Really don't like the white shorts either.

This feels like a huge missed opportunity. We're in front of a truely global audience for the first time in a decade, and we'll be wearing that ****e.
It smacks of someone who isn't normally allowed to sort kits is suddenly allowed to choose kits.

No retail sense, no marketing strategy given the worldwide eyes on our club this year. It's literally a kit geeks wet dream being played out in real life. It should never have been signed off as our home jersey in any season, but certainly not this one.

Massive own goal.

Oh Ric, I forgot to mention that I emailed the club about ideas for a new club song. They're very keen on your suggestion of Live it Up, by Mental as Anything. :emoticon-0103-cool:

It's our time.
I already contacted them about my copyrighted version of 'Mambo number 5' and I've been offered a new goalkeeper top,a kebab and a bottle of Efes.

I accepted the Efes, the wife quite likes it:emoticon-0148-yes:

Does it? There have been some horrible template kits over the years from the bigger players. What marketing strategies were imposed in those cases?

I think that, given you were one of those with all the insider info (it’s not Oxen, how could it be etc etc blah blah), you’re trying to restore a bit of credibility by spewing all of this gibberish.

Like the kit, don’t like the kit, fine. The rest is nonsense.

I am in the minority of really liking the shirt. I’m in my 50’s so probably counted as ancient and love the retro look. Yes would prefer the tiger head than hcafc and black shorts & amber socks, but don’t mind it as it is. The fit looks perfect for my non-athletic torso and I will be buying one. I hope it is tailored better for the players when it comes to opening day if the season though. How often have strips started as being reviled but turned into great and well loved kits? Nothing finer than seeing Tigers in proper stripes for me.
