Anyone know if the ratio of kids wearing it against kids wearing plastic prem shirts on our streets and in our parks is higher than previous years? This is a measurement of our success.
I know it's been mentioned, but I'm surprised the lack of amber in the home kit isn't more of an issue for people. On the pitch it just looks like we're playing in the blackout away kit.
They probably printed the shirts for preseason and rather than waste them wait until the season starts to then reprint. Every fan with printing on the home shirts I saw at the Barnsley game had amber on them
Seen people complaining about the iron-on badges falling off already, absolutely no excuse for not having them embroidered... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Cheap option. Should have an embroidery edging like this Ferriby one. Really poor choice to print but I fear the factory is not very good. The stripes on the front of the Home shirt should not be different on different size shirts as I am told they are. Some have black finishes and some end on Amber. It is basic sublimation printing. The pattern master would ensure the sizes are all drawn in the exact same spec.
Presumably they've just printed rolls of stripe fabric and all sizes are being cut from the same base fabric.
I agree that that's ****e, but Les Motherby reckons it's an industry trend; that player issue shirts have had iron-on badges as standard for a while (to prevent it rubbing against their nipples) and that it's now becoming common to do the same on replica shirts so that they match the player issue ones, which apparently people want it to, for authenticity.
You get good quality and bad quality iron-on patches. NBA jerseys have gone the same way - the real ones I saw up close in Fanatics in San Francisco and Vegas are really nice finishes. The cheap replicas from China have switched to iron-on patches to match and they peel after a couple of washes. So it can be done well - but regardless of how well it's done, I think it looks cheap, unless you have a badge like Venezia which looks more bespoke for the style.
Exactly. And as you will know that's the wrong way to do it!! Every single size has its own cad design but will look like the size above and below or even 10 sizes above or below. We have 16 sizes from YXXS to 7XL and every time we make a new product the factory will replicate the design 16 times even for a Pub Team kit. Some factories or brands would see that as pointless but what happens if a guy wants to order a shirt for his 4 year old kid, it needs to look the same. I took Les Motherby to errea recently and they showed him how they do the same, i think he wrote about it. It's pretty standard with most brands. Whoever Acun is using has a lack of experience it seems
As @FerArk pointed out (I think on here, but certainly to me) if City players are facing in different directions it looks like there’s three different teams on the pitch!
Just saw on the website, the womans shirt is totally different. An extra amber stripe on each side, crazy.
