I think buying boots from Asbestos was a rite of passage - spent 3 weeks paper round & pocket money on my first ever 'good pair' of Adidas Inter boots.

Can't remember myself though I do remember getting some new Patrick boots with screw in studs !

Was that the black & purple Stylo boot? If so, I had a pair of those - they were definitely style over substance, uncomfortable as **** and dropped to bits in under a season

I got my first boots from Pools Corner, pair of George Bests, out of the bargain bucket, we was so poor we could only dream of Boyes.

1974 color tv rented from prossers on newland Ave!!!
Bloke came on satdee to fit it and the old man loved it as the itv 7 was in color

Back to ARCO and boots... got a pair of Adidas 2000 from there in the 70's, really expensive but best boots I've ever had.
