Good to see the communication from the club improving in the last week or two.
And it makes sense that RLB will want final say in who he brings in, as he should.
Hopefully this nips some of the conspiracy theories in the bud (although not convinced it will!)

Kinda sensible (even if accidental) of Speakman to give all this information to the local press who he knows will spread it out over several days to maximise clicks / stories during the summer. As it makes it look like he's giving more information each day when in reality it would all have been from one interview

"Kristjaan Speakman has confirmed that Régis Le Bris will have the final say on his assistant as the club continues its search for reinforcements to the first-team coaching staff."

"And he doesn't, at the present time, have a cohort of people that he's worked with probably more to do with his background [in academy football]. And he was really, really clear that he's got a profile around the staffing structure and we're currently trying to recruit another assistant to that profile. And then once we have that assistant in, that will have a knock-on effect, I'm sure, in terms of where we are on the other positions and where we want to expand or where we want to get maybe some additional detail into the staffing structure."
But but but Dodds and proctor blah blah blah whinge whinge whinge

It'll be interesting to see how he does, I didn't want him at Sunderland but he's still young for a manager.

Odd choice for the announcement picture, doesn't look much like him and generally looks fake as ****.

It'll be the closest he gets to Burnley ...

... he'll turn up on Friday's for home games and meet the players at the ground for away games.

I think he’ll do well personally. Very good championship squad to work with.
He is a very good coach in my opinion. He probably needs a club like Burnley to thrive, in other words a good squad who he can push hard.

Really enjoyed that thanks. You can see how good Dodds is with the players in that, really got time for each. I hope he stays with us personally.
I’ll argue with anyone on Twitter saying he should be sacked. The bloke stepped into a role when we needed someone, he didn’t do a great job and now he’s back in his old roles (which worked very well indeed under Tony Mowbray)

Spot on mate. In any coaching team you must have a variety of people with different skill sets. Dodds background as an individual player dev coach is fundamental to his future success I think. He appears to have a real affinity with players as individuals. That sort of assistant is invaluable to a head coach who has to have a team focus. You would imagine being able to turn to someone and saying can you talk to player X as he seems a bit off it these last few days. Or as a player having a coach you can grab a quick 1 to 1 with about something you dont want others to know.

Totally agree mateI have been critical of him as his influence on first team tactics grew but as a development coach I believe he is one of the best in our league. His contribution to the club should not be underestimated, and the vagaries of how we will operate and progress may well hing on how he gets the young lads to integrate with the new head coach.

I always think you can see someome who loves the job they do by their demeanour. That video shows Dodds to be very happy being around the players again in my opinion. That sort of attitude rubs off on people I think. I hope fans can take a step back, remember how Mowbray seemed to really integrate him and praise him, and trust the lad to know what he is doing as a coach.
