All I have posted is that I am unimpressed by his record last season and remain to be convinced.

To be convinced means he will get a chance to convince me that he is the right appointment.

KLD and Speakman however, have certainly put us through the wringer over the last season though and their stock provenance is so poor that if they were to sign Jobe's brother to play for us then I'd be half wondering if he had contracted some life-limiting illness or something!

Even more importantly, will the club give us fans anything to get excited about by finally getting around to signing players to round out the squad - especially up front?

Listened to this BBC Sounds interview about him and heard the SAFC buzzwords Shambles and Disaster, a weak attempt to justify the relegation as due to selling two of his best players in January and the team were never the same afterwards but they were in 17th at the end of December, exactly where they finished at season's end.

Interesting that no one is mentioning that Lorient seem to be something of a yo yo club of late.

As far as I can tell, it seems they have been relegated to Ligue 2 three times in the last eight years.

Three of their last four managers seem to have taken them down.

Not sure how much this means but it isn't exactly indicative of a well run club, I would suggest the problems that took them down this year are likely at board level.

Edit: after looking into it, the fourth manager (the one who didn't get them relegated to ligue 2) only managed them in ligue 2

I’m quite sure there’ll be supporters actually hoping he’ll fail, it’s quite mental. There are plenty of managers who’ve been relegated but still been decent afterwards(Peter Reid relegated us I seem to remember). He’s going to be our new manager and needs backing by us and KLD before being judged.

PR saved us from L2, took us up the following year and then struggled to avoid relegation from the Prem due to the lack of investment.

It seems like RLB is going to br our new head coach. I don't know much about him but in all honesty that may be a blessing as I don't have much to judge him on so for me he will take up his new role with a clean slate and will hopefully move our club and especially the first team forward towards where we want to be.
My hope is to see us playing a fast aggressive style of football with quick transitions from defense to attack. Only time will tell how this new coach will set up his team but I hope he is ready for the challenges that lie ahead and I hope he meets them head on with confidence and humility and maybe a little humour because we all know that he will need to have a bit of something about him to adapt to our club.

But if they say he was 3rd or 4th choice it will set the wrong tone from the off.

If he was on the list since MB was appointed nobody can moan.

RLB is someone who we have admired for sometime. He has a reputation for developing young players and with a strong background in academy development, we feel he can fit and improve our group here. During this process, we have never wavered from our system and approach, ensuring we get the right head coach to lead us into the new season. We look forward to working with RLB and welcome him to wear side.

We all know Still was the target, I'd doubt they will try to suggest otherwise.

I have seen nothing that makes me certain this guy isn't coming as second choice.

I don't get the impression that this guy is an also ran, I think he very much fits the criteria.
