Interesting video from the echo, sounds like Regis was lined up prior to that "imminent" statement a couple of weeks ago.
Could be good news in as much that he may have been spending the last few weeks researching our squad and the league and watching and analysing videos of our games. Properly preparing for an imminent appointment.

This line in the tactical analysis link stands out for me

Lorient typically defend in a 4-4-2 and attack in a shape that most resembles either a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 if you want to put a numerical label on it for reference

I'm really hoping we are a more fluid attacking team this coming season, get the wide players high and defenders on the back foot. Get back to something like the first season in the championship as it was lovely football and a joy to watch

RLB is someone who we have admired for sometime. He has a reputation for developing young players and with a strong background in academy development, we feel he can fit and improve our group here. During this process, we have never wavered from our system and approach, ensuring we get the right head coach to lead us into the new season. We look forward to working with RLB and welcome him to wear side.

Something like this id imagine.
Something..something…high performance culture…something…obsessed with progression…aligned…something.

I think it was @Flash Gordon that posted from the in depth article that said he likes to overload the wings, have his wingers isolate the opposition fullback in 1v1s and have his own fullbacks joining the attacks.

In theory it would be ideal for the squad we have. Providing the likes of Clarke are still here.

It was a joy to watch, but,a lot of it relied on the outstanding Amad...however,injuries apart, our squad is more or less the same...if we can add a central holding player and a proper striker.....I'm hoping we can develop another playmaker to make us tick. That's the task RLB has to address.

Reading that has me excited for seeing attacking quick football again.

Even if Clarke does leave I think we will bring in an as good as replacement to suit the system

Have you stolen Speakmans notes or hacked his phone?

I can see that being exactly what's written :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Or maybe his mask has dropped, maybe its all been part of a cunning plan whereby @Prehab26 pretends to dislike Speakman so much now of us will be able to tell Prehab is Speakman:emoticon-0103-cool:

Now if only i was clever with tech i could do some Scoobie doo style unveiling

That's a very good point, going to be interesting to see how he gets on this pre season.

I believe he is more suited to left forward and if we get the elusive front man it would also help him and the rest of the team

Agree. Watching him play,I thought we signed him in the anticipation of losing Clarke. He looks a little bit lost centrally, but coming in from the left on his right foot, looks a lot better. However,I think he may have had difficulty settling in the area with us....sometimes happens....we'll see.
