Just a bit silly now isn't it? It really isn't hard to hire a coach, it isn't even that hard to hire a good coach who is willing to work within the current structure we have. For example, Cifuentes was hired mid season by QPR and could only bring 1 coach with him. Why can't we do that? A team like Sheff Wed managed to appoint Röhl when they were a shambles and they still are now and despite this he signed a new deal. Other clubs have managed to make good appointments within their clubs structures as well so there's no excuses.

We have top end facilities, good investment into the first team playing squad, a young first team which allows the coach to develop players, good investment into a CAT1 academy which is producing some great talent. These things should be the selling point.

Coaches should be running here yet they clearly just aren't and from my point of view that is down to Speakman.
The time to judge is when the appointment is made. You can judge something that hasn't happened...

You can judge the process, you can judge what Speakman has said and failed to deliver in terms of continuity and succession planning, you can judge previous appointments and previous decisions.

It's 45 days since the end of the season, 3 weeks (I think) since our apparent main target turned us down. No other club is going on like we are.

It looks like we are jumping from one potential candidate to another since Still dumped us. No one seems to really know what's going on, but I really do hope we are not going down this route..The whole selection process is coming across as very arbitrary ...as I say, hope this is not the case
Agree, scout and Prehab26 saying they've heard from someone when in fact there are no leaks.

Radio silence for a another few days at least..deadline at the latest for an appointment is next Friday.

Two new signings expected before 1st day of preseason...I guess we know this anyway...

No names on manager...however contact said - 'actions speak louder than words'. WTF

FTM
Now that's the type of post I like, rather than someone has told me the name

I think we will be more in tune on Thursday
I would just be patient till then.
It all depends on staffing levels and what KS wants
I'm reading that as club trying to find a role for Dodds after he's been promoted to high. Both parties need to agree or there's a problem with compensation

I'm genuinely concerned we get to a point where Speakman actually HAS to go to convince any manager to take us seriously.

I do want Speakman to go. I don't however want us to get to the point where its a necessity.

Just given myself a good shake! They are genuine owners who want the best for the club. I think they will be as concerned as we are at the chief coach situation. Whoever we get will be the best they can get; maybe not our choice, but the best they can get.

Leicester have no manager
Burnley have no manager
Brighton have only just appointed a manager
Top two lost theirs fairly recently and received massive compensation for them. Leicesters season starts later than ours and Burnleys ended later than ours.

What I would say is that Burnley look like they will be hiring a head coach to work with existing coaches and are about to appoint a new assistant coach before the new head coach. Also talk they might just give it to Bellamy who's already there. So it isn't just us in the championship that work like that.

A good appointment can absolutely turn everything around and a good window could propel us into a promotion challenge. I'm of the belief that both will happen, just don't want it to be so late that it effects preparations.

Leicester have only been managerless for 15 days
Burnley have only been managerless for 20 days
Took Brighton 29 days to appoint their manager

Sunderland 120 days and still no sign of one. Can't really compare them
I guarantee someone will try

I think they are genuine. It can't be denied that things haven't been going right so far in 2024 but I wonder if anyone who wants rid of them have pondered on the comparisons between the current owners and people like Donald & Methven, Michael Knighton at Carlisle, Chansiri at Wednesday, Dai Yongge at Reading, Peter Ridsdale and his profligate spending at Leeds, or even the owners of the exercise in propaganda up the road.
