Yeah, that's some coincidence as well! Gus was rumoured a few months back and now he's the guy our managerial target wants to work under? And that person just happens to be somebody thats been linked to the club before.

I would of been happy if we got him in straight awayThoughts on Rosenior?
The DoF should have responsibility for the entire football side of the organisation, so I'd expect him to, at least technically, have superiority over the head coach.I'd guess that it depends on which one is in post. You don't want to bring in someone who can't work with who's already here when it so crucial for them to be on the same page . Those roles should be virtually equal for the system to work.

Got to admit i was tempted a few times to employ lasses that had know bra on and you could see their suspender buckle through their skirt.I once interviewed loads of people for a job in Tynemouth ...
... I gave it to the person who was the cousin of Ray Laidlaw, the drummer from Lindisfarne, purely because of that ...
... he was my original choice but nowhere near as qualified as the other candidates![]()

S&M now man, what is going on at our club !spanked off?
I'm just coming upto my 70th Birthday this month and have supported Hull City well over 50yrs and in my view he's one of the best we've had. I was surprised that they let him go because the local reports on the partnership seemed great.Thoughts on Rosenior?
Who is the “7 man team” involved in hiring a new manager?
Isn’t it funny how people can read the same thing and take totally different things from it. I’m seeing people questioning how wise it is to let a new head coach have a say in who a new DOF should be. I didn’t take that from Bobs comment re Gus Poyet.
I took the whole thing to mean that one member of the interviewing panel is pushing for Ciufentes AND wants Poyet in as DOF.
To me, that was as clear as day what Bob meant but plenty of others seeing something different in it. Guess it shows how snippets can be interpreted differently when there’s little context to it.

Sounds good. Appreciate the insightI'm just coming upto my 70th Birthday this month and have supported Hull City well over 50yrs and in my view he's one of the best we've had. I was surprised that they let him go because the local reports on the partnership seemed great.
It is slow build up play which can be a right piss off but when it clicked it clicked. The one touch football was a joy to watch and it seemed to be coming together at the end of the season, few more games we'd have made the play offs.
He is a Legend at City as a player so we was wondering how he was as a Manager and he did do pretty well. If he gets the right players to play his style of football then you'll be in for a treat.
I don’t think a Head Coach should ever get to choose the DoFBob was asked directly:
Who wants to bring in Gus....LR or MC?
And he answered:
MC
Seems pretty open and shut what he is saying. Marti Cifuentes wants us to bring in Gus Poyet as DoF. Does it seem backwards and nonsensical? Yes.
Btw I was in Hull Friday and confirm everyone doesn’t have a beaming smile
