The deal was agreed last Sunday contract sent on Monday Still changed his agent who got him the Lens job and he chose to go there , who could foresee that - we must have a lot of people who can see in to the future on the forum judging by the criticism of the club . Yes we didn’t get the long term number one target and no we didn’t appoint an alternative immediately ,better that we react in a sensible manner . Remember the old adage of act in haste repent at leisure , we have already made a major error with Beale , better to keep our heads and make a measured judgment on a replacement rather than rush in and make a further mistake .

Thanks for that , as you get older you have experience of things not going to plan . What is important is not panicking but assessing what went wrong and coming up with an alternative within a reasonable timescale - not jumping in and repeating past mistakes .
I generally agree of course but the last 12 months plus have not been good and not just the coach. I don’t see them putting our recruitment mistakes right ie those overseeing it. Is there a plan for that ?

All clubs make mistakes in recruitment, many much worse than ours ...

I did wonder how our support would've reacted if we'd appointed Kompany before this weird Bayern episode.
He was a total failure in the PL and his team played some of the most insipid football that league has ever seen, on a par with Mick McCarthy.
He took Burnley up, with parachute money and a team Dyche had built ...

As one example Birmingham sacked a manager, while in the play-offs, who ended up relegating them to L1.
They appointed Rooney, who was an absolute disaster, then Mowbray in a panic ...

Regarding this I honestly think we will be trying for Maric and with reports that Bayern are now looking at some else to be assistant gives me confidence
