Interesting post from Hawyatt Earp imo

'The fact of the matter is, Will Still is the litmus test of this ownership group and its ambition.

Whether he’s successful or not is irrelevant at this moment. The fact that he’s clearly been KLD’s number 1 choice since Mowbray left and now that he’s free and available and obviously interested enough to travel to the North East twice, Kyril simply cannot afford to fail to get him.

For me, if we fail to get him onboard it’s a clear sign we’re going nowhere under these owners and it’s time for them to sell up. If they do get him. And more importantly back him, then maybe, just maybe they can get us back to the Premier…'

on that last part, we aren't equipped for the Premier league. Most clubs aren't, even with the cash injection of PL money.

St Etienne is very close to Lyon and Julien Sable (who we were linked to right at the start of all this, or perhaps when Beale came), is currently Assistant Manager of St Etienne

edit - no he isn't - he's assitant at Nice. St Etienne's wikipedia not been updated for a couple years :D

Detective me not

Only worry with a Maric type is that the club will see them as someone they can force dodds upon as they are unlikely to have major demands given it is their first job. A strong character like Still would (maybe/hopefully) be reluctant for that to be case and would carry (strong) demands eg assistant, analyst, coach etc . However, if the 'highest bidder' thing is true that puts me off Still as it seems he cares more about the financial side rather than preferring a project. I'm surprised we haven't been linked to Cifuentes at QPR ; he's done a great job.

Asked a question yesterday and got this answer, please apply the *'pinch of salt' rule.

*"'Lens can do better, no offence. There are managers, in France/Europe, who'd jump at the chance to go there."

Ah right apologies, understood.

No problem, thanks.

*Someone was saying he'd given Sunderland an idea of the players he'd propose if he took the job.

Whether that was part of the interview, or not, I've absolutely no idea ...

... just gossip and I've no idea how well informed it might be.
