Could today be the day? Hoping for something, a report/tweet from the athletic or an actual official announcement. I can’t see us announcing it without a leak
with the still appointment it's a massive in a way that still doesn't seem the type of person to not come with out some promises, he's just walked out of a club over not having any, this is also the first time we've got over the line are number 1 target, poyet we messed up and keane we messed up,
we don't need whole sale changes. we just need some tweeks to the system, a few people seem to believe speakman has to much hands on when it comes to the first team, still won't let that happen aswell, also with him being KLDs actual number 1 target he's also be more inclined to actually back his manger, in my opinion he's up there with Keane Martin O'Neill for same type of excitement when first appointed , i would also probably say about 80% of fans want still so that means if he starts the season good he'll have a massive fans base behind him already with excitement, any appointment you get is risk, i think we are in for a very good season
With respect Magnus, I was told ay 7am this morning another guy was being interviewed at the AOL today, do you know who this might be???with the still appointment it's a massive in a way that still doesn't seem the type of person to not come with out some promises, he's just walked out of a club over not having any, this is also the first time we've got over the line are number 1 target, poyet we messed up and keane we messed up,

Yeah, I don't buy this 'tweaking the model'. Anyone that has paid any attention to Still over the last couple of years will know how important his coaching team, especially his brother, are to how he works. The Club won't have been unaware of that. They won't have targeted him if bringing in his team was fundamentally different to how they wanted to run the club. He might have 'fought for his team' but as was pointed out yesterday, we are no longer pushovers in that kind of negotiation so it is likely that it would have happened like that anyway. And I think it signals we are going to sign a proper centre forward.
From what I've seen of how Reims played, the CF was absolutely integral to it. Don't see him agreeing to come unless he was confident about the position.
No offence Bob but you need a word with your sources, you told us Still wouldn't work under our modelWith respect Magnus, I was told ay 7am this morning another guy was being interviewed at the AOL today, do you know who this might be???

Pretty much the same set up he's been working under in France? No offence Bob but you need a word with your sources, you told us Still wouldn't work under our model

I'd settle for the season Russell Martin has had.I just hope he doesn't have the start Russell Martin had at Southampton.

Rather then KLD and KS backing down and changing their plans just to bring in their favourite head coach (which would be a sign of real weakness), this appointment, and all that comes with it, is a demonstration that 'the model' was nowhere near as rigid as it critics liked to claim. All of these myths about the owner and how he wants the club run are slowly falling. I'm sure some of his haters will try to cling to them, but it's becoming more and more apparent that a lot of nonsense has been spoken about him.

Well, yeah. This is a more succinct analysis than my rambling.I dont know what the model is. I haven't seen much evidence of rigidity in it. No one talks about it other than disgruntled fans so I'm just discounting it for now.
Maybe after a couple more years and with a bigger sample I will have a better idea, but we are so early on in a long term project.
If Still is this far along I very much doubt itWith respect Magnus, I was told ay 7am this morning another guy was being interviewed at the AOL today, do you know who this might be???

See, I disagree with the bit in bold. The emphasis has been on younger players but signing an older player doesn't indicate that they've deviated from their plan. According to some they've looked at older players but not been able to do the deal. I think the assumption that they won't sign older players is just that, an assumption.I think the proof will be in the pudding with regards the model. The core of the team that got us promoted and kept us up has gone (Batth, Evans, Gooch, Pritchard etc) and we are left with a squad full of kids. Regardless of the coach we bring in, we need some experience in there to give us any fighting chance of a top 6 finish. The "model" has always been about recruiting young lads and hoping they develop. If we spend a single penny on a player over the age of 25 then that will be evidence of the model being tweaked. It's going to be an interesting couple of months...
