Obviously they don’t sack every single member of coaching staff within the club down to the u14s lol I don’t think anyone was meaning that... but they bring in their own assistant plus a few others who run their day to day duties. Emery brought in at least 2 assistants and a GK coach
Exactly. Speakman has reportedly said that whoever the new man is will be able to do that, so I don't see any problem with Dodds and Proctor being kept on.
But what will they do whilst the new lads run the training session? How many coaches do you need amongst it? More coaches means more contradicting ideas and different instructions. Weak mentality in my opinion, hopefully we make a statement in the summer with a good appointment.
Probably best not to overthink it just at the moment imo, there are so many scenarios it would drive you mad.
It wont be different instruction, the manager will be the one giving the instructions but his coaches will support him with that.
Its great to have different ideas from multiple people, its only bad if some start going behind the back of the manager when it becomes an issue
I dont mind proctor n dodds staying as long as its the new managers decision

Like I say, Ange has four assistants at Spurs, in addition to various other coaches. Emery has two at Villa, plus others. Farke's got three at Leeds. Most semi-pro clubs I know have, at least, an assistant manager and a coach, plus a goalkeeper coach. So it wouldn't seem odd to me if the new man brought in two or three and Dodds and Proctor remained on the staff. Means you can split the group for specific things and means you can have specialisations within the staff. Doesn't strike me as unusual at all.
They are likely to have 25/26 lads on the training pitch day in day out. Having 5 or 6 coaches is more helpful, so long as they speak with one voice. I am sure they will. Coaching teams meet all the time, before and after training. To discuss how to run sessions etc. Sometimes you might split them into units and have a coach with 4 or 5 lads working on partnerships, or set pieces. Usually you are working to a syllabus that you are refining to meet changes based on performance. If you are doing that the one voice is automatic. Then coaches play to their strengths. One might be great at talking 1 to 1 to players, others might love the banter. You can also mix up who leads sessions, to give different take on how to explain. Variety is great...

Ahhh because it’s not true at all I’d imagine.
Normally the GK coach does set pieces if there is no designated set piece coach. @FellTop is that correct?
I learned yesterday that Man Utd don't have a set piece coach which is crazy for a club of their standard.
I would love us to have a dedicated one though, look at the advantage Arsenal have this season with their designed set pieces. We are good at them anyway but we could be even better.

GK coach definitely heavily involved in them. As we know dedicated set piece coaches are now quite common at bigger clubs.
I have a theory on set pieces and that is they have been neglected for a few years by coaches. The % of goals actually scored from them and there is very little different from one club to the next. The lad from Notts County I think it was has turned corners on their head by going almost exclusively short because stats show across europe less than 1% of direct corners result in goals.
Gone to Swansea mate. Interesting to see how he gets on. Swansea have a good record with unearthing good managers so hopefully he does really well with them.
They had a brilliant wages system based in performance bonuses, then the local owners couldn't keep up so they sold out

I have a similar theory behind long distance free kicks, especially ones around the half way line. I hate when teams lump it towards the box because i'm not sure i've seen more than 10 goals ever scored from them situations. Would much rather have a planned attack which starts around the halfway line. Obviously with 30seconds to go just get it forward but in normal situations I see no point in launching it.
If us lot on here are anything to go by then whoever we get will have doubters. People seem underwhelmed by Heckingbottom who less than 12 months ago got promoted from this league. I have suggested Mark Robins and folk said no way. If those 2 names arent good enough then I am at a bit of a loss to be honest. Still keeps getting mentioned but I would not be keen on him at all personally. So in reality we wont agree. I hope we accept whoever it is though. If it is Still then fair enough he gets my full support as always. I think we have seen though some coaches will never get a chance with some supporters.
Tell ya what though, they've transformed the womans team. Lot of giid work going on there
