Massively disappointing appointment. Wasn't a fan of giving it to Dodds because of knock on effects. Would much rather Dodds was given it till the end of the season than get Beale.

1) He’s always been interested in coaching

His playing career ended early at the age of 21. Instead of spending his savings on the usual things a 21 year old lad would, Beale decided to invest in the Brazilian Soccer Schools franchise, aiming to teach young British kids Futsal. Think five-a-side football, but played with a smaller, low-bounce ball to enhance close control and technical ability.

2) He spent 10 years coaching at Chelsea

Working with Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Guus Hiddink, he helped to develop Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham.

3) Then he went to Liverpool where he really turned heads

Eighteen members of his squad made first-team debuts in the space of two years, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones.

4) THEN… he moved to Brazil become assistant at São Paulo, he learned Portuguese especially for this. He developed his coaching further working with Rogerio Ceni and coached a young Eder Militao, who ended up joining Real Madrid for over £40m.

5) Gerrard poached him and gave him all coaching responsibilities

7) My opinion.

He’s a fantastic coach with an impressive record in youth development. The only blot on his record is that he tried being a Head Coach with mixed results

He was only at QPR for twenty odd games mind. And looked at two other jobs in that time, taking one despite the bloviating from him about his loyalty to the players being so big for him.

We'll see. It's him and that's it, he'll get my support.

If they'd appointed him the day after TM was sacked, I'd have understood it more easily. But it just looks as if they are scrambling around to get a body in. And by the way, if you thought Lee Johnson talked some ****e, wait till you hear this guy!

Unless of course, we are meant to think they have interviewed multiple candidates, Beale last the last, and he was the best of them?

No. Me neither.

Another is that our management structure will take player recruitment, scouting, style of play, long term strategy etc off his hands allowing MB to concentrate on coaching, preparing for games and on-field issues all things we know he is good at.

Dodds can use the goodwill he has with players to step in if necessary and as long as MB gets along with Speakman and his crew it could end up being another short term disappointment, long term surprise after Neil and Mowbray.

Neil was more of a medium term surprise but you get my drift.

Getting along with Speakman is not only certain, it's probably the main reason he's here.

Is the contract a long permanent, short permanent, or rolling? I’m consoling myself with the thought that he may just be a stop-gap until one of the first choices becomes available without compensation.

Sorry mate, I wasn't aware that either KLD or KS have banged on about our upcoming coach, I thought it was just all social media and speculation. Maybe I missed something, and I am a self confessed happy clapper, but I think the past 2 years have entitled me to that.
Let's see what happens shall we?

If it's Beale then the club have seen something in him that fits in with our model. Some will have you believe that it's "only because he's unemployed" but then so was Mowbray. And Alex Neil. And Peter Reid come to think of it.

If KLD believes Beale is the right choice then he has my backing.

End of story
