Just looking through the stats for Thelins Elfsborg team for the Allsvenskan season that just ended. They finished 2nd to Malmö on goal difference after losing to them on the final day. Averaged 2 goals a game, which was third best in the league. Created 53.8xG which was the third most in the league. Averaged less than 50% possession and had the most long passes in the league. Had 13 clean sheets which was joint most in the league and conceded 26 goals which was the best record in the league. This suggests to me that his teams are defensively sound and like to play on the counter attack and are very effective when they have the ball. If he is appointed it would signal a change in play style to more like we played against Leeds. Interesting.
I would bet he can adapt to a more possession based game which I think is when our players are at their best. Most coaches can adapt easily enough to the players at their disposal these days.

Of all the coaches we are linked with this fella is the most compelling, to me anyway. His record has more longevity to it, at least at top level. He is in an elite environment, including European football. His squad looks to have plenty of youth, and a mix of nationalities. It is also a big squad by the looks of it.

This is the sort of coach it seems we are gunning for. To me, this lad seems a step up on the main two linked so far.

this is quite specific so think it has legs.
It also correlates heavily with wheatsheaf saying there could be news Friday evening / Saturday morning
i don't know if i'm just me reading it wrong, but to me that's sounds like the club have said the want the first choice coach in the stands saturday, but he hasn't actually said it's him just that hes got a chance, might be wrong like

Thelin might well have been interviewed but I wonder if this leaking is down to his agent. “He has another championship option and another European club” just seems like they are trying to panic us to think we might miss out.

Apparently set to be at the Bristol game , so we’ll soon find out if it’s bullshit.

Thinking about it, Fabrizio Romano seems to be KLD's go to man for bigger news regarding the club and gets the exclusives.
Replacing Mowbray,
Amad,
Even Michut seemed like a big signing at the time.

Today was the first time he's even tweeted about our situation. It's not a million to guess that he knows exactly who it's going to be and is just waiting for the green light to publish it. Which seems to me that it may not be Thielen and someone else completely as Romano would want the exclusive.

I would have thought any top coach will obviously have his preferred style of play but if he knows his onions will be able to find a style to suit the players he has available.
