I think people have worn themselves out battering away at the club despite little but rumours ...

... they're like bluebottles in a conservatory, repeatedly banging their heads off the glass but getting nowhere <laugh>
If it’s true we’ve had offers on the table for both Maric and still then we can’t say we’ve not been ambitious I guess, especially given the sources that say we’ve offered also say both accepted at one point, just don’t know where we go from here if these 2 are off the table, Rosenior is the best of the rest, unless there’s a name not been mentioned yet? Waffling now like but we’ll soon see atleast!

Still and Maric havent gone tho

Still hasnt been confirmed as Lens manager - not even sure if the Lens manager has left yet.

Maric has just been offered a job on Kompanys coaching staff but might prefer the main job at us

Also doesnt mean itll be a poor appointment if its not 1 of them

I'm not sure if Still will go to Lens, I really believe they're not chucking all their eggs in one basket ...

... it's a big season for them and I'm not sure Still is the best they can attract.

If you were Maric, given his age and non-traditional route into coaching, you'd be better off taking a job around the Bayern first team rather than turning up to the bin fire of Sunderland before being sacked in February.

FWIW, the Nixon story on Robinson is full of caveats that he's someone they've considered. Doesn't seem like what we're looking for. I'll be honest and say I don't know much about him because if you're going to watch non-English football and don't have ties to it, why the hell would you pick the SPL?

The only mentions are in the media who've been pretty vague tbh.

I'll only judge the club after an appointment, some seem desperate to get their digs in before they lose that chance.

We need to prepare for a poor appointment the 3 we actually wanted in Still Maric and Svensson have gone so whoever comes in is at least 4th choice

There's no credible link at all to Svensson. He wasn't in the reckoning at all imo.

Also, if that's the kind of list we're working through, I'm confident that 7th or 8th choice will still be an exciting appoint.

My gut feeling is if we go for him sincerely he would come. He comes across as a very smart man and to be honest if he did fail at Sunderland I don’t think it would do him that much harm given what has happened this season.

True, we are still in talks with Still so its def not off the table

If hes trying to play us we have to give him a deadline to sign by (id be saying tomorrow night), and if he doesnt we move on

Fail in a head coach role and he can still waltz back into any number of good clubs’ coaching set ups with his reputation.

Opportunities like being a head coach at a club like ours aren’t going to come around too often for him though.

Totally agree. Maric or Rohl would have been a risk as any appointment is but you could see how they could fit into a long term strategy. They fit into the 'McKenna' category. Robinson would be an uninspiring appointment, the sort that Stewart Donald would go for. If he was appointed I'd try and see the positives but it would leave me and all fans flat and it would make me question both KLDs long term strategy and his suitability as aon owner. Fan-wise we are clearly the biggest club in the division but we certainly don't seem to act like it.
‘All fans’ now you’re really talking ****. Not saying he’d be my choice like but neither would Still

If he isn't announced at Lens tomorrow I'd say they're looking at a a variety of managers ...

... I just can't see a club, that big, thinking Still is the only man for the job.

He got plenty of clicks and attention though and added more Sunderland faces to the dartboard from the Uber fans.

I'm hoping we've already moved on and made our move for Maric.

I prefer Maric of the two, but that's because I love all the nerdy tactical and stats stuff.

He's clearly a bigger gamble than Still in terms of experience and Still is the clubs number 1 target, so in that sense it would be good if Still happens.

But in the back of my head now, I'd be expecting him to be at odds with the club at every transfer window or when any Premier League job comes up and it would all be played out in the media.

Don't worry be happy

its from the Scottish sun absolute rag of a paper see it’s an exclusive which means they’ve probably just made it up
Yeah that’s what I mean, the links are coming from north of the border which makes me think his agent is touting him about
