There’s only room for one scout on this boardWhere’s “the Scout” gone?

And in their previous roles they were quite successful as I don't remember people shouting for them to be sacked when we finished 6th!!!
Not enough was made of that. The list of signings was a disgrace. It’s no wonder some have got very little faith.Last years recruitment and the failure to retain coaches is a significant concern to me being honest. If they don’t alter that after relegation form they are literally idiots. Hopefully they do/have/are and we just don’t know about it, but if they have Speakman in charge of recruiting a coach they get what they deserve.
We have good things going on beneath first team level but the reality is we had a dire season with a substandard first team squad and substandard coach for more than half a season and it needs sorting right now. I may well be happy with whoever we get but if we aren’t getting who we want we need to locate the reason and amend things or we’ll be competing against people better than us.Barnsley finished 6th a few years ago and now they’re in League 1. Huddersfield finished 3rd, League 1 now. Not really a massive achievement to be honest. If we’re going to continually compare ourselves to the worst 3 year period arguably in the clubs entirety then it’s not difficult to make it look we’re going places.
Things aren't perfect under KLD but we're now a modern football club, trying to operate in a way to make the club competitive in the 21st century football landscape.
Bury won the FA Cup in 1903, now they're playing at Step 5. Who knows how far we could have dropped under the previous owners. We're much more likely to end up in the Premier League under the current owners. One disappointing season doesn't warrant all the doom and gloom.Barnsley finished 6th a few years ago and now they’re in League 1. Huddersfield finished 3rd, League 1 now. That's true. Although, I'd have said that the DoF and the coach have to have clearly defined but complementary roles, which won't always look like an equal partnership.I think the only major issue is matching a head coach to a DoF. Of the appointments that haven't been temporary, we've appointed managers (or coaches wanting to be managers) so far.
It might be KS' job to oversee the footballing side but it's KLD'S job to make sure the pieces are chosen with a coherent approach. Also, he's the boss. The head coach and DoF have to be equal partners or it's doomed.
Wonder how many of these questions and answers are rinse and repeat since this thread started, 80% maybe, just a guess.
As long as they act on last seasons mistakesBury won the FA Cup in 1903, now they're playing at Step 5. Who knows how far we could have dropped under the previous owners. I disagree, it is in fact sheets and sheets of matching information, expressed in varying ways.Main reason I don't say to much tbh it's literally pages and pages of the exact same thing written differently.
There's currently no reason to think they're not.As long as they act on last seasons mistakes
They should probably like each other too or you’re not going to have anything like a Clough/Taylor, Shankley/Paisley or Smith/Busby partnership. It would at best be a professional relationship. We may have a number of coaches that want to come to Sunderland and work within the model but if they think Speakman is an arrogant prick then they may not sign on.That's true. This Lens website seem pretty confidentSurely we hear something today about whether Still is going to Lens or not?
My response was in relation to the original post that Dodds and Proctor weren't doing what they were paid to do. They were good in their original posts so should be moved back there, if the new Head Coach is happy with that.Barnsley finished 6th a few years ago and now they’re in League 1. is there any genuine updates, are people still confident it'll be Will Still and announced tomorrow?
Or think they are other than operations .There's currently no reason to think they're not.
