Wouldn't be surprised if Still has been doing due diligence since Xmas, probably one of the reasons he's left Reims. Once he was linked to us they dropped off massively.
Aye that’s true. I don’t like allowing myself to get excited by managers/coaches but I’ve followed his career for a couple of years now so can’t help it!
It’s a fair point mate. Club have done very well thus far to keep it all quiet (relatively). Don’t think that will last too much longer.
3 weeks seemed daft when he said it. But looking back it probably had to be that long as a minimum due to the end of the European seasons and our lot having a break
This is a meaningless statement mind. If it means bringing his own staff in, he was always going to be able to, so it's not changing 'the model'. If it means signing some more experienced players, we have been all along anyway, so it's not changing 'the model'.
Last person didn't bring any. Others brought 1. What happens if Still gets more than those? Surely that is indeed a greater level of compromise?
it definitely feels like people jumping on to protect their status rather than everyone suddenly hearing stuff. sorry to be a miserable git
That's the impression I get with some posters who post something which seems like a rehash or repeat.
There’s a definite feedback loop (if that’s the right term), I’ve never noticed it as starkly as I have these last few weeks.
Feels like a 'status' thing to me. The old days of fanzine culture felt more like a community spirit, like fans grouping together to share their love of their club. The rise of Twitter (and even forum) 'celebs' feels more like individuals trying to gather little bands of followers, acolytes around them. Like this from Fishpaste- Like we all have to be more positive because he says so. I've always been positive and never found it hard to be so. I've always thought the negativity was bollocks.
It is a limited brew to celebrate their anniversary so it might not be easy to find. Mind you it’s not one to drink a lot of in one go, it something like 11%!
The only time I’ve ever felt really down was when we had that pile of s hite turning out for us in the Premier and the thought of actually paying the useless bastards our hard earned money.
Oh yeah, there have definitely been some dispiriting times over the years. I've always been happy with KLD though. Never believed any of the nonsense that's been said about him and, since Beale was sacked, I've always been certain we'd get a good head coach in, and I've never believed any of the stuff about the next manager not being allowed to bring his own staff in.
I know a lad who worked with him before he was 'famous'. He was known for keeping to himself and being a bit precious. Twitter is his way of getting the respect he thinks he deserves. To keep it going he has to string people along, more trouble than its worth imo.
I think he's probably a decent writer. But like with Nixon, I'd have thought journalism was more about reporting/commenting on things that have happened, not pretending to be able to predict what's going to happen.
We've shifted from a fact-based reporting model to an old biddies gossiping outside Hintons model. It's set journalism back decades, if not centuries.
