Never seen a Spaniard drinking Madri either. Produced for the Heineken dominated British market. For example, Staropramen brewed in Prague is unrecognisably better than the version brewed in Burton-on-Trent. Thank God for Craft beers
If you don't like lager then I bet you'll love a lot of Belgian beer. There are so many styles, the Trappist ales are beautiful, the Abbey beers are nice, then there's lambic and gueze. There are loads of independent breweries producing lots of different traditional Belgian styles.
Aye I was gonna ask if any of them taste like our ales or bitters. I only ever see lager looking imported beer so presumed it was like lager. Cheers
They've got a character of their own. A lot of them are quite strong. Some of the easily available ones are nice. Duvel is available in most supermarkets. It's a strong golden ale but a lot of people confuse it for a lager and serve it cool. It's better at room temperature in my opinion.
I’m gonna have to try some now. So when it say’s ‘foreign’ beer it’s not lager like I’m presuming? This sounds thick but I’m 56 and haven’t tried them cos of my hatred of lager.
I’ll try it, thanks TLT, i find most mainstream (capt morgan, Havana, bacardi) spiced rum are just rum with far too much vanilla added, to the point it’s all you can taste. Prefer the ones that have a varied spiced taste, Chairmans smells like Christmas in a glass.
I’ve found chairman’s spiced and chairman’s spiced original. Canny difference in price, which do you recommend.
No, it's not lager. There are Belgian lagers, but it's mostly not lager. You probably want to go for an Abbey or Trappist ale. https://www.lonelyplanet.com/articles/beginners-guide-to-belgian-beer
