The 'model' that you seem to always moan about has us on a very good footing for the future

There is no 1 way to get into the PL, its about recruiting well and having the right manager in place to get the best out of them

Just signing experience players doesnt guarantee you success, just splashing cash doesnt guarantee you success - just like signing youngsters wont guarantee us success

Its about having good transfer windows - 2 out of 3 summer windows weve had with this model have been very very good so heres hoping we get another one (plus a quality manager)

I agree about the last 3 windows, my concerns were raised January 2023 as i thought it was a very poor transfer window when we were in a cracking posiiton

The summer one we focused on too many players with high potential and not enough that could help straight away

January there is a tough one to judge as the manager situation was shocking - i get not signing a striker was poor but i dont actually mind the 3 that were brought in (i think mundle n hjelde will be valuable squad players - with the upside to really push for a starting spot - in the next 12 months)

You are spot on about the balance, that is what we need to correct this summer. A good manager can help that immediately and then players that can contribute straight away is vital

I’m not meaning to dig you out here but if that’s just from rubberface you’re hearing it then you should clarify.

I think that’s how internet rumours gather so much momentum. One person says something then a number of people reiterate it (keeping their source private) and readers assume that it’s multiple sources and that that adds credibility. Not criticising anyone, it’s just the way it is.

I personally don’t think there was anything in the Maric stuff this time around but a kind of echo chamber means that it has become quoted as fact.

I love Belgian beer. I once had a rant at a startled American in a bar in New York because he said "but Belgians only drink Stella, right?". @Disco down under might correct me but I've never seen a Belgian drinking Stella, although I have seen them drinking that horrible Jupiler stuff.
