Class. Another season without an experienced striker, CDM. And just a **** load of inexperienced wingers and no 10s then.
I'm fine with KS stayin, I'm fine with KS leaving, but him leaving just not yet is an issue. See no positive to it.
If we want Still we need to make sure he’s got the right people around him and if that means bringing his brother in then that’s what we do. if we are hesitant over this then we clearly don’t want him bad enough
If we can’t even bring one of his team over, we are gonna struggle with many managers. Wish we’d **** Dodds and that off
To be honest I don’t mind keeping Dodds on but if still wants his brother in then I want his brother in as well
There should be no surprise that Still would want to bring his brother. If the club didn't realise that, they haven't done their homework. I don't believe that the club didn't realise that and I don't believe the myth that any new coach wouldn't be allowed to bring in his own people.
Agree. I thought this was welll known that they come as a pair and based upon Speakmans comment recently that any new coach can bring in his own people I don't see how it can be a problem.
Not sure why people keep mentioning any manager bring in his own assistant would be a problem, there is only Beale who didn't bring in his own assistant out of the managers employed under KLD ownership
KS doing his mate Dodds a favour and forcing him into the number 2 position no matter who we have as coach is going to massively hold us back like. Any decent manager will want his own assistant.
Aye but the club promoted Dodds to Assistant when we hired Beale. If we allowed another manager to come in now with one, Dodds would need demoting. Can’t see KS demoting him.
I've been really supportive of the model, and tbh I still am but think most would agree there needs to be some flex. Obviously this is just speculation/hearsay so not criticising the club, but Id find it ridiculous if we dont let the new man (whether its Still or not) bring in some of their team. Our strategy restricts the head coach as it is in terms of signings etc, which I think can work for us, but the head coach should be allowed their team to support them to get the best out the group they are given. I mean imagine Still turned us down because we wouldnt allow him to bring staff in and he would have had to keep Dodds who he probably doesnt know. That would be crackers and couldnt see us being successful with a strategy like that (dont think the club would do this for what its worth). Hoping for an announcement this weekend, cant see many reasons keeping us from appointing now, the sooner we get the new man to work the better.
Don't think it was KS doing his mate favours and forcing Dodds on him. I think it was probably the fact Beale is new to the head coach game and didn't actually have an assistant to come with him. Maybes in the discussions both parties thought it maybe a good idea. This is the only time it has happened and was a complete failure, why do some fans think its a given that, that's the clubs philosophy on moving forward. KS has already stated the new head coach can bring his own assistant(s) in. But I suppose its some other way to have a swipe at KS and the club. They've made more than enough mistakes for us to have a pop at them for but let's just invent stuff as well
I might be a lone voice here, But as and when a new head coach is announced we part company with Dodds. His recent stint as number 1 has shown us all how good he is. We need a full clear out of the current coaching staff. We MUST get this right this time
I don't know how good he is/was a development coach. Supposedly very good. But I am inclined to agree. Think he was thrust into a job was was ill-equipped for and won't be forgiven for how dreadful the results were. It's a proper shame but I think it's best for everyone to have a clean break. That said, if he stays in the background and does his work away from our attention I would be probably be fine with it.
There are, but Edward has steered his own course. He's managed Charleroi, Eupen, and Kortrijk. It's Nicolas that is Will's assistant.
