I just hope Dodds has the balls to change things and do it his way. I think the players respect him and if he wants to mix it up and play 2 upfront I hope he does it. If he thinks Rigg can come in and do a job at the expense of whoever I hope he does it. He's got until the end of the season and hopefully he improves his credentials by doing well. Maybe not get the job but wont do him any harm either.
I think he’s got the balls to do it his way The way he set up against Leeds was spot on. I like him plays things down and soft spoke but a much stronger character than he appears. Not sure he’s ready for the role full time but he will certainly do it his way
Successful people often are. Not really a measure of how good a coach he is. In footballing terms he's got a fair bit to be arrogant about
I know folk who have worked for him. Only positive comments from them. Good friend of mine just gone is a coach at Blackburn. Says folk still loved him.
Would love Cooper but can't see it. He'll get PL interviews, the 3 that get relegated will have interest and I suspect the Wales job may be open this year. JDT I would like. His teams play some great football at their best, his philosophy seems to be outscoring opponents which was a feature of our play last season, he promotes youth (look at Wharton as a prime example). He got seriously ****ed over by the board in transfer windows, 3 failed signings on deadline days because of paperwork issues, last seasons best player leaving on a free with no replacement, having to reduce wage bill because the Indian economy went down. And I see him being called arrogant but what I see is someone who is confident in his abilities and speaks very openly in interviews. Will Still is an interesting one because it seems to me, despite however much he says he's happy, like he really wants to leave Reims. He didn't want the job in the first place but Reims essentially told him he could only leave if he bought out his contract. I have seen them play a few times and while in some games they play some good football, on the whole they are more of a defensive minded team, which i'm not sure fits our squad? He does fit the profile of being a young, bilingual coach though so wouldn't shock me if he ends up here. Plenty other interesting names out there though, Lee Carsley if he doesn't take the Ireland job, Marek Papszun has been linked and has a very interesting profile and is a serial winner, Ian Evatt at Bolton plays some great football, maybe we go the assistant coach route with someone like Pep Lijnders. We have a few months to get this absolutely spot on, and it needs to be.
Cooper JDT Are the realistic options for me. I fell into the trap of wanting Still last time and knew nowt about him. And still don’t.
I took a look at Reims record this season and it's not great. I'm not against the idea of Will Still, I just don't get the popularity of him amongst our fan base when we know very little about him and what he has achieved, if anything? If he gets the job, he'll get my full support, but I think there are other options that may prove to be better. We shall see.....
Was happy with the appointments of LJ & AN. My fave was Big Sam!! Just don’t fancy Cooper - something about him!! Thought his patter was poor. If appointed I’d get behind him, just prefer someone who is successful and on the way up. I think Cooper has already peaked. Bart
Can't get my head around this point of view, as when we won our last honour, we had a mag managing us.
I’d love cooper but can’t see it, feel it could be someone we have never heard of, not sold on Will Still can’t put my finger on why though
@JamesCopley_ Mike Dodds says that despite the Tony Mowbray news, Sunderland's former head coach still picked up the phone to wish his former colleague well when Dodds replaced Michael Beale last week. The bloke is a class act... Mogga ❤️ #SAFC | #BCFC
Yeah but look at the choices they had. Anyone supporting the Tories wants whipping with a shìtty wet blanket mind.
