4 months since Dodds took over for the 3rd time, whatever happened to the data driven recruitment. You can ignore all the rumours the fact is we still haven't recruited a head coach with pre season starting very soon.

If we end up with Rosenior and he does well we did the right thing not to rush, he was only available after the close of the season, as was Still.

No one in their right mind can look at this scenario and think this is ok/normal.
From a pure business sense it’s obvious something has gone tits up at some stage with this particular recruitment process. If it was, KLD certainly wouldn’t have issued a statement last week… if all was ok/ normal.. he wouldn’t have had to

Christ man, we don’t need proof to know that this is taking an inordinate amount of time. Nor do we need proof to think that the club have had their list sorted since Beale left and have been working on prospective coaches. What we don’t know is who has tuned us down and for why
But it should never take this long for an appointment whether posters like that or not
People can make their own judgments they don’t need proof

There's plenty of things that have happened that are worth praise and criticism.

I see plenty of praise and criticism for things that haven't happened and I don't mind it, I do mind people saying you can do one but not the other. Makes no sense.

Why is there no middle ground on this board?
Sorry mate, I don’t agree with you, you will of seen praise for things we would like to happen, nothing wrong with that. I am talking about criticism for things that didn't happen, were never going to happen because they were made up in their own or someone else’s head on this forum

Two things from the Nixon article:
1. Seven people on the panel (although at least one of those could be HR etc) is an oddly specific thing to make up
2. Him referencing ‘an experienced member of the set-up’ just sounds like him alluding to his source.

So you reckon we were after him all along, then why not snap him up after he was sacked by Hull?

From what I've read no one does think it's normal but we don't know for sure it's gone tits up. The club only made an announcement the other day to say an appointment is imminent and nothing before that. Yes people on here had heard that Still had agreed to join but that doesn't look likely now. Yes it's taking longer than anyone would've wanted but no one knows for sure it's the club that's at fault

They created the mess, did you not witness the performances under Dodds?
I didn't say they didn't create the mess. Although, if unreasonable pressure hadn't been put on Beale, they wouldn't have needed to sack him and we could have got through to the end of the season without relying on Dodds and, if Beale's pattern of results had continued, on more points than we eventually achieved. As it was, Dodds was put in charge until the end of the season. Therefore, we have only been without a manager since the end of the season. Still was clearly the main target and we had to wait to make an approach to him, otherwise we would have had to have paid compensation. Lens coming in for him was not particularly foreseeable so they've had to look at other targets. The timescale since Still knocked us back is only a couple of weeks and therefore perfectly reasonable.

Personally I think it seems pretty obvious our first choice was will still, so I don’t think it’s wrong to say Rosenior, or anyone else, wasn’t first choice.

But a couple of things. Firstly people will obviously start shouting out the buzzword of “no ambition”. The reality, I think, is that they’ve almost shown too much ambition.

Secondly, is the situation a mess? Yes I think it is. But I don’t think the mess is necessarily all the fault of the club. I don’t think they can be blamed for taking their time. And I don’t think they can be blamed for showing ambition and going after top young managers from Europe.

I think it’s possible to acknowledge the situation isn’t ideal whilst also not putting all the blame on the club. It’s a middle ground sort of thing.
