I’ll assume that still was the number one and possibly only choice then when he did a U-turn we’ve had to start again?

Maybe they are the contingency plan or maybe they weren't and Still was the only choice and had to start again like you suggested?

People being approached for and then being offered jobs before turning them down is a very common thing that happens on the daily basis across the world. I did it myself this week. Recruiters always have to have a contingency plan. It doesn’t mean they’ve made mistakes or put all their eggs in one basket.

I'm not slagging the club off at all by saying IF they put all their eggs in one basket it was a mistake by them.
And I'm quite happy with most of the people linked with the job including Rosenior.
Cifuentes is who I'm hoping for now.

'So we put all our eggs into the Still basket. That was their first mistake.'

I don't know if you realise what you inevitably do or not ...

... so I'll explain.
(You're not alone and I'm speaking generally not personally ... there's a regular theme on here, but mainly on RTG.)

What you'll do is make a bold statement as fact.

If no one challenges it, or someone agrees, you'll come back with something a bit stronger to back it up.

If you are challenged you'll back track a little then, later, act the victim and say 'I am entitled to my opinion'.

Then you complain that people think you're negative, I don't understand why tbh ... no offence.

So that's what I think, perhaps you could tell me where I'm wrong or maybe you don't care.

It's a funny thing this recruitment process.

The club can absolutely shank it and go through their first few choices, embarrassing themselves along the way.

They can drop down to eighth or ninth choice, refused by everyone, and if that man succeeds... no one gives a flying ****.

Because there are several right men out there for the job at any one time. As long as the man is in before recruitment starts in earnest/the preseason, and he turns out to be a good choice, it's a job well done.

Ugly and frustrating though it may seem.

Really gets me that there are a load of good posters on here who may have different opinions or viewpoints and at times it can get a bit angry or bitchy but in general it stays reasonably civilised.
Then you get the odd cock womble who to be fair are normally the most negative of posters and only really post when things are a bit troubled or are not going well, they then start with the digs and jibes at the club then move on to any poster they think will rise up to the bait. Wish they would just piss off with there ill informed or thought out comments and take their crusty old **** splattered stiff sports sock with them and concentrate on getting both feet into their school shoes.
Rant owa !!
This post has probably been written ( or similar) a dozen times, it makes no difference I think they are pulling their pud as they write the s hite.

Nothing so far mate...although it appears as though something may be imminent. There is, however,a debate about whether imminently means imminent or not,and whether either word means very soon, which I would advise you to steer clear of.<laugh> :emoticon-0105-wink:

Our first choice may have been Potter who we approached and received a 'No thanks'.

Our second may have been Cooper who's bound to an agreement with Forest ...

... and so on.

Of course if Still had verbally agreed, having been our first choice, we wouldn't pursue people further down the list.

It seems some people are just out to attack the club and will use any amount of guesswork.

Surely the club actually do enough things, to complain about, without people having to invent more <laugh>

You need to have some breakfast and a cuppa tea mate and calm down.

That's what happens when a situation goes on for over three months.

I'm more annoyed by the 'everything's fine man, nothing to worry about' posts.

Not as annoyed as one side's constant attempts to bully those who don't think the same way though.
