A tough start there. I'm confident about getting the positive results though and I can see us getting maybe 7 points from the opening 4 games. Plus, we face Leicester quite early also on the 22nd Septemeber with the return on Boxing Day. COYH!

Looking at the fixtures I thought though start, the read more and there really isn't an easy game anymore in this league. Paddy power have us down as 15th with charlton two places above us. Not sure I agree With that.

I think the start to the season is a good one, Blackburn, Bolton and Charlton will just be getting used to the division whith new teams, best time to play them in my opinion

I don't know, they have to take into account a lot of things, eg. Stadium shares, policing etc. Suppose it will depend on whether FC are at home or away that first weekend.

Every club (in advance) give the dates when the grounds are not available. They also get a draft list 2 weeks(i think it is) prior to the official release date,, when clubs can change upto 3 fixtures (we have hull fair week in oct as an example, luckily for us its an International shutdown period) changed. Once all this has been done its press the button and wait for the computer to churn out the fixtures. Thats how it was explained on SSN last summer.

Had a quick look at #hcafc fixture list for 2012-13 and I have to say it's a pretty tough start. Out in 15 mins

Buckingham is a complete foook wit. Its a great start ffs. Brighton (H) to start with who are nothing special. Then that crazy mess known as Blackburn Rovers(who start @ Ipswich) as out first away game. Great time to go there. Then Charlton away who are nothing special either. No reason at all (espeically when out new signings are revealed) to expect 7pts at least on the board. Get your bets on City now as the prices with the bookies will soon drop. The buzz is coming back already. First tough game IMO is the Bolton home game on 1st sept.

A relegated team early doors then.

Yes But the right one. The messed up chicken farmers. Great time to play them.

Brighton at home ;)

I wanted Charlton at home first, But hey ho - at least we shall have a good travelling away support at the KC and unlike last season its not a tuesday night match. Great opening day home match.

Cardiff at home on final day

Yes thats about as good as we could have hoped. Anthony Gerrard to have a say in that game,,, maybe ?? lol

"hcafc open with Brighton (H) on Aug 18 then it's B'burn (A), Charlton (A) and Bolton (H) before first int break."

Edit - Bucks isnt wrong, that could easily be zero points after 4 games and that's not being negative.

Great start and Bucks is more than wrong. He is a first grade knob. end of.

Great fixtures!!! Start with home game, finish with home game and 2 home games over Christmas. I'm well 'appy :)

Could not agree with you more so.

No easy games really. But with the squad we have now and what will be addred other teams will fear us more than we shall fear them. BELIEVE.

Happy with the new fixture list. If you look at our March/April it's pretty easy, with a couple of exceptions. But providing we're top 6 (or very close) come the start of March, I think we'll be in with a great shout.

if Bruce gets the players in he wants and a good pre-season into the squad, playing the formation and style he wants - we should defo get 3 points against Blackburn (let's not forget they have Kean still in charge, with probably no budget to strengthen). Charlton is hard to read as a result - as we don't yet know if Powell is a championship manager and whether the squad is good by just league 1 standards or by championship standards. Brighton could go either way, suspect a hard fought one goal in the result victory. Bolton looks the toughest match but no reason for not getting a point out of the game.

So on my ramblings we could be looking at possibly 10 points from the first four games - meaning we start off the season in the top 4 of the division

Start at Home, finish at home all derbys away apart from leeds on an afternoon, great Christmas games, can't ask for much more than that really

I'm very happy with Brighton at home as a start and happy with the fixtures overall. I don't think Brighton will be anything special next season. It's easy to come up from League 1 and do well in your first season, but the second one is always a lot harder. I reckon they'll be bottom half.

Brilliant fixtures, Home first game, Home last game, Leicester at home on boxing day and then TWS straight after at home. TWS at Bell-end Road quite early too. Blackpool on New Years Day... Drinking session at the seaside for me I'm thinking. Loving these fixtures.
