Is Henderson a leader? I don't know and that's a quality surely you look for. I'm not saying he's not leader material, I just don't know. Lovren, Skrtel both are but Lovren's only been here 5 minutes. Would love Flanno in the future, something about seeing a scouser lead out the team.

Hendo is definitely vocal and tries to lift up his team mates.
I was reading this earlier and thought he is defo captain material:

Tough one really. I'd accept Hendo or Skrtel no problem (people underestimate the pure grit Skrtel puts into every single performance even when he's not playing well) but in a way Rodgers may see this as a sticky one.

The local rumour mill suggests he sees Lovren as his long term captain (if he settles as well as he should). If he gives VC to Hendo can he then promote Lovren over him when Gerrard goes? He might be able to do that a bit easier with Skrtel as vice captain simply because he can use the "long term future" excuse to Skrt's. Can't do that with Hendo so easily. Might even keep Skrtel a bit more settled at the club if Sakho does start more often and he's getting fewer games.

Genuinely think both would do us proud either way though <ok>

makes sense,

wonder how many would have said lucas, he was an option not long ago, funny how things change so quickly.

That's a good read - I may have to change my mind now <laugh>

I love Henderson's commitment and in a funny way seeing him in the Wembley crowd watching his team Sunderland showed this even stronger. He's very competitive - the keepy up challenge were he wanted desperately to beat Chamberlain ... and he did. I reckon he's a first to start and last to leave training as well.

Definitely Hendo for me.

And no chance I would have Srktel as captain - we've criticised the lack of leadership at the back which Skrtel was a part of. How can he be expected to lead and motivate the entire team?

Lovren needs to earn the right to captaincy - yes, he's vocal but he needs to perform as well. He's made quite a few mistakes in his first 3 games. I'm sure he will improve as he's relatively young but I can see him becoming a captain in a few years also.
