Is Henderson a leader? I don't know and that's a quality surely you look for. I'm not saying he's not leader material, I just don't know. Lovren, Skrtel both are but Lovren's only been here 5 minutes. Would love Flanno in the future, something about seeing a scouser lead out the team.
Hendo is definitely vocal and tries to lift up his team mates. I was reading this earlier and thought he is defo captain material: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/sep/01/jordan-henderson-england-tempo-fear-factor-norway
makes sense, wonder how many would have said lucas, he was an option not long ago, funny how things change so quickly.
That's a good read - I may have to change my mind now I love Henderson's commitment and in a funny way seeing him in the Wembley crowd watching his team Sunderland showed this even stronger. He's very competitive - the keepy up challenge were he wanted desperately to beat Chamberlain ... and he did. I reckon he's a first to start and last to leave training as well.
Definitely Hendo for me. And no chance I would have Srktel as captain - we've criticised the lack of leadership at the back which Skrtel was a part of. How can he be expected to lead and motivate the entire team? Lovren needs to earn the right to captaincy - yes, he's vocal but he needs to perform as well. He's made quite a few mistakes in his first 3 games. I'm sure he will improve as he's relatively young but I can see him becoming a captain in a few years also.
