Haven't read the full thread so soz. if its already been mentioned , but True Detectives Woody Harrelson / Mathew McConaughey is seriously good. Simply excellent.

I loved the first series. Tried to watch the second twice now but not got passed the first episode.
Just been to see Three Billboards. I knew nothing about it beforehand but I saw it described as a black comedy and thought I like comedy and I’m not a racist so why not.
It was very good. Funny, touching, different. I’ve now seen two Oscar nominated films. Probably a new record for me.

Just finished watching the first two seasons of Fargo. Much preferred the first season. A black comedy like the original movie. The second season full of excessive violence and definitely not funny.

I’ve just finished Detectorists and it was very good. Couple of gripes were Andy’s wife being unrealistically hot for his weasel, snackhead face and series 3 in general was worse than the other 2, but all in all it was brill.
They've released cast/location info for True Detectives 3 and it looks like they are aiming for the same high standard.
Gomorrah 3 releases on Sky Atlantic next week.
I've just watched the first two seasons too. I didn't like the second season as much for the first 5 episodes but then it became slightly less organised crime and more ridiculous with Ed and Peggy and I loved it. Will be going on to season three at the weekend.
I've never seen the original film, is it worth watching?
Personally I think the film is better than the TV series.
It's absolutely worth watching.

I gave up True Detectives cos I couldn’t hear what the mumbling one was saying (turning the tv up simply made it louder mumbling so I still couldn’t tell what the bloody hell he was saying)
Glad I'm not the only one with that problem. Watching some programmes I think I need my ears syringing or old age is getting me.
Makes at least 3 of us then.

Yep drives me mad. I've turned off loads of programmes cos of that.
Jump out of your skin when an advert comes on or they play music in the programme.
