Would you play Squid Game? (on Netflix). Totally mesmerising and also very disturbing. Well acted, and the girl "thief, North Korean agent or escapee, whatever she is) is very beautiful.

Did you see the first series Martin Clunes did about the same detective of the murder of a French student?

It is just me, but I much prefer sub-titled foreign programs rather than dubbed ones. Dubbing just doesn't seem natural?

I always watch with the original language and English subtitles - much more authentic, and in a way it forces you to concentrate on it better.

Make that three John, there's so much really good foreign programmes today. But they can shove the dubbing where the sun don't shine.

Absolutely. Although I remember years ago working in the M.East came upon a tv program which was native Egyptian, dubbed into Gulf Arabic, but subtitled in English. Completely incomprehensible!

Good ol Americans refuse to watch anything foreign that is not dubbed - maybe Narcos was an exception?

Started watching The North Water last night. Made a cold autumn evening even colder. Very atmospheric, and I'm looking forward to more tonight

Anyone watch 24 hours in police custody on Monday night?
Horrific. All caught on camera. Some Romanian just pretended to deliver a large el to a Chinese family and just punched three women. Laying them out.
maybe something dodgy going on but the brutality was awful.

I was just a little disappointed with it. I thought they skipped some of the background stuff to get it into 5 episodes, 8 episodes and a bit more faithful to the book would have been better imo. Having said that I believe a second series is being considered,
I preferred The Terror, thought it did a better job of showing how horrible the Arctic can be.

Trying to watch a basketball documentary on Netflix called malice at the palace and they’re playing a music soundtrack all the way through it over the people talking, you can’t hear what they’re saying!! Driving me mental

Went to see the new Bond film tonight. Really good, everything you'd expect and a bit more.

    Tough life was whaling...

Leslie West looks like he could have been a whaler in the flesh - great live band.
    RIP Leslie.
