I'd already said Ash Lord had tweeted saying it was going to be bigger next game. My only question is, was it smaller for the So'ton game than the Spurs one? If it wasn't, then regardless of whether they want to think it's a conspiracy or not I think some people's eyes need checking. I'd definitely be going in for a check if I'd not been able to see it the size it was against Spurs.
He can't take out what isn't there.
Nobody else is going to loan the club the money for him to repay himself when the club has no assets and he's stated he's going to walk away as that would just be them throwing their money away.
He can't take the TV money/parachute payments and **** the club over because the club has to meet certain conditions in order to claim the money. If he tries, the other creditors (which will end up being mainly players) will force the club into admin and he'll lose control of it along with the majority of his loan. If the club is then wound up the parachute payments the club is no longer entitled to will then be split equally between the Championship clubs, the same as happens when you get promoted before your parachute payments end. If the club is bought from admin then the rest of the parachute payments will go to the club under the new owners.
He is a successful business man. I am sure he will find a way. I will be very surprised if he just walks away. It would be cheaper to follow up on his threat and build a stadium in Melton, than to just walk away and then he would still have his interest payments.
So would everyone else, which is why we're so sure it's a bluff designed to scare people.
As you say, he's a businessman. He's not a magician. There is no cash in the club. Unless someone else puts it in somehow he can't take it out.
He can have a firesale after we go into liquidation.
he may not get every penny back, but I am sure that he has got plans to get the majority back.
That is my main worry.
OLM et al can call me what they want but I will be very surprised if he didn't have a plan up his sleeve regarding his tenure of HCFC.

That would be a better investment.
To build a stadium at Melton he needs the initial capital to fund its construction until he starts receiving the rents from the retail park. If he gets the retailers to fund the development that will lead to reduced rents. He'd also have to estimate how many supporters would be attracted to Melton. He would have to continue the lease at the KC and keep the ground in tip top condition with only the money from Hull FC coming in, unless the council agree to him surrendering it.
Any plans for getting his money back are dependent on us becoming an established Premier League team. Tuesday night showed what is required to become a mid-table team. A decent academy and over £50 million in transfer fees. Under Assem Allam we are a long way from that position. Last season our income rose by £35,000. To me, for our best ever season, that isn't much of an increase.
The liquidation or administration of a Premier League team would cost him over £2 million in Insolvency Practitioner fees. He would be paying somebody a fortune for something he could do himself.
I don't see why we should call his bluff. The council want to work with him and the fans want to Hull City to be successful. If he really wanted to he could easily get Hull City onto a secure financial footing and become an established Premier League team. Unfortunately for us he listens to nobody but himself.
On Saturday I walked a long Roker Beach and saw hotels and amusement centres flying Sunderland flags. A small example of the community coming together over football. In Hull we have division because he wants to change the name without allowing us a say.
If we're being liquidated all he could sell would be the Cottingham and County Road training grounds. The players would be declared free agents by FIFA as soon as we went that way. He could follow the Rangers route and try to get compo later, but that still hasn't been resolved, and AA wouldn't even have the benefit of a replacement club trying to claim they'd transferred the contracts from the liquidated club. Plus he'd by default lose any money we were awarded for Aluko in those circumstances, a victory for AA there would mean Rangers would also be due compo from us for him in the first place.
If we go to admin the best players would be offloaded as quickly as possible for nominal fees as the priority of the administrators would be to stop the debts growing so they could try to find a buyer, rather than getting as high a fee as possible to repay creditors directly.
If he just tries a firesale whilst at the club, what do you think the squad is actually worth? In the circumstances he'd be selling the buyers would know he wanted out and would push the prices down because it's better to take £3M for Huddlestone now than to pay him wages for an extra 6 months in the hope we can get more than £3.75M for him in the January. (based on £30k/wk wages, I don't know what he's on). The whole squad only cost £35M, he'd be lucky to get more than £15M total if it was obvious he was trying to pull the plug, the buying clubs would just sit back and wait for his end of window desperation to save the wages in order to get a lower fee.

He's already threatened to move the club out of Hull and had his bluff called, and the only documents he can direct anybody to as explanation for the name change have been discredited as support for the move by the people who wrote it. What makes you think he's going to start having plans before he says things now? Just because he's got one successful business doesn't mean he can't fail to have a backup plan in other things. He intends to scare people into supporting his idea, that's he plan, but a back up plan just because he's successful, I'm pretty sure Ratner intended his comment to be a joke, he definitely didn't have a backup plan.
AA expects people to believe what he says because of his status, he's failing to appreciate that you don't need to have a £300M company to be able to read financial statements and see that the club owns nothing and has no cash. When it comes to the handling of financial matters in football it's one of, if not the single most exposed industry in the country in terms of transparency. Clubs disclose so much information, you just need to put it together from different releases and remembering details over a long period of time because things often don't occur regularly. The league and FA disclose the prize money breakdowns, and the nature of their TV deals. When a club goes into administration and financial rules come in it's reported in the national media, along with any special arrangements made (eg early payments of parachute and unity payments to help Pompey). Do you think AA is aware when he maes that statement that if we go into admin and don't pay the players for 6 weeks they can tear up their contracts and walk out for nothing? The last time I know about it happening is when we lost Marcelle, Brightwell, and Harper to Darlington. If you went and told him Steve Harper had joined Darlington on a free transfer from us he'd probably ask Bruce if he thought we should recall Jakupovic again.

We have divisions within the football fans ranks, sure, that's always been the case though although obviously they're a little more exaggerated at the moment. Long beforre the name change we had threads on here sneering at "flaskers" and people who use Tiger Travel etc. The only common thing the majority of fans share is support of the club, and that is still case despite the name change proposal.
Suggesting the community in Hull would come together if we were still going to be called Hull City AFC is just bollocks. Whether you like it or not, Hull is a divided city sports wise. We have us footy fans and we have the tosspots who follow FC/KR and support Liverpool/Leeds etc.
It will take more than PL establishment to change that. Suggesting we're not one big happy city supporting the mighty Tigers is down to Dr Allam is at best disingenuous, at worst it's just an outright lie and you should be ashamed of yourself, unless you actually believe that ****e, in which case I was right all along about you and CTWD.

Obi is merely saying that instead of everyone being excited about our current position, people are spending more time discussing the name change than the football and that's a crying shame.
Did we see local businesses flying flags last season as we aimed to get promotion? Did we see any flags celebrating our promotion?
Did we see a coming together of the community to celebrate our promotion with a civic parade?
Do you think the club could do more to push our football success in the City?
In Sunderland local businesses worked with the club to fly a few flags.
In Hull the only local businesses with Hull City material are those with No to Hull Tigers posters and postcards.
I believe that the promotion of our football club in our community leaves a lot to be desired and the proposed name change has done nothing to change that. Neither has the fallout with the council.
