I understand where you stand, Mel; some of the banter and kidology on here are similar to the techniques of groomers, it how they seek to be missed in the crowd.
I also accept that the moderators do a valued and voluntary job and have said so on more occasions than the once when I believe they misjudged the situation over the extreme jokes. I never saw the joke or comment made against me, but nothing would surprise me, as there are a small number who confuse their democratic rights with their social responsibility - just as another poster remarked, it would be a good call that they wouldn't be as brave this side of their keyboard - just an observation, not an offer to meet in Linnets car park.

The thing is, you accuse me of advocating racism and *****phelia because I can laugh at those jokes. Whilst I understand, at least in the racism case, circulation of those jokes does nothing to help the real problem, in fact they probably influence the dim witted in to buying in to extreme views, enjoying fictional material doesn't mean I advocate the real life scenario. Much the same as enjoying a horror film or a graphic action film doesn't make one a crazed psychotic serial killer.
The real life cases of racism, baby rape or whatever else was joked about, are sick. No two ways about it. Same as laughing at the disabled (were any disabled jokes told that night? I can laugh at them too). I feel strongly about genuine racial hatred, and have lost a number of what used to be good friends after they fell in the wrong crowds and started attending EDL marches and bullshit like that. I have friends of almost every race and don't even feel more English than them. On baby rape, if anyone can feel so much as indifferent towards a real life case of child rape, or any child offences, they need to have a serious think about their moral values.

Look at the current threads. Favourite this favourite that. I guarantee that this forum is read everyday by a guest who isn't looking for info on Hull City. I also can guarantee that not everyone is who they say they are.
I agree that it is now overdone, as I never said anyone on here is grooming, my point is very simple and that is that each day that this nonsense is posted it gathers momentum and drives away those who come on for football or campaign news and opens the door for those with another agenda. It is simply daft to think you will spot them before they get established, so many sites have thought that. I will agree with DMD that there are no guarantees in life, but a bit of prudent risk limitation does no harm.

So parents, if your child tells you they're off to a concert or City with Uncle Alan off the web, you may want to ask a few extra questions.
I'm not dismissing it, but anyone grooming on here would (in most cases) stand out a mile. The exceptions would tend to be those mainly using PM, in which case the parents should spot it themselves.
Mountains and molehills spring to mind, as does parental responsibility.

Not back tracking at all. I've made my stance on topics made perfectly clear on threads where they were being discussed long before that joke thread existed. I also repeated them at the time and after.
The bottom line is, those jokes were fictional like a film or a book. No one chastises others on their film or book tastes, so why is it any different for humour?
Perhaps you could explain why you feel it necessary to make a statement about it and, more to the point, your rationale in posting the link for all and sundry to access.
Who the **** is there to groom on this site? I have no idea who you spend your time chatting with but my impression was 95% of the regular posters here are fat old blokes.
