I often think that people that make the decisions to change dept names of job titles give it much thought.I worked for a company (Rio Tinto ) that embarked on this massive organisational cultural transformation exercise. Vocabulary was very important to implementers.
There were many howlers but my personal favourite was when the structure of the company was looked at, what were previously known as departments, HAD to be henceforth known as and referred to as
MUTUAL RECOGNITION UNITS.
