And a deep breath...........

of some sort of narcotic that game has drove me to drugs. Might just be hearing gabriel agbonglahor repeatedly mispronounced. or pass debuchy on the left hand side..paul lambert and butler. ill get me coat

Our centre midfield of Sissoko and Cabaye backed up with Tiote and Anita is now looking damn good and provides depth.

Our defence at full strength ' Santon, Colo, Taylor/ Mbiwa, Debuchy' is also fantastic but our problems have been actually getting our first team onto the pitch and our back-ups are still pretty bad in places.

Still think our wingers are hit-and-miss (though Ben Arfa is class often enough) and our season is likely to be defined by whether Cisse hits form. If he does anything near how he did end of last season we'll finish mid-table. If he stutters and misfires then we're still looking at a relegation fight tbh.

Got to say with Tiote and Sissoko in midfield I can see Cabaye feeling more comfortable on the attack, and coming in with a number of vital goals in the back half of the season. He said when we bought him that he loved scoring goals from distance.

And he's proved it.

It seemed to me, that last night Cabaye stepped up into the 'captain' role. He seemed to be always there ...encouraging, organising, trying to cool Jonas down etc etc...Hard to tell from a stream as you only get glimpses when the cameras or on him, but he seemed ...'different' (in a really good way, almost as if he is taking responsibilty to intergrate the new lads etc) ..Thoughts?

I agree <ok>

Colo, for me, isn't captain material, but other people have different values when it comes to this discussion. Think Cabaye feels like a leader at the moment because it's all on him really. On FM he's my Gerrard <cool>

How dare you mention Gerrard in the same breath as Cabaye?

Neg rep for you my boy!

Yep, I definitely noticed a more "proactive" approach. As I recall, Colo had to steer Cabaye away from the ref while he was talking to Jonas!
When players went down, he was there, acting like everyone's favourite big brother. He was very impressive in every way.

I guess he's eyeing the captain's job -- he must be aware that he's got a VERY good chance of getting it when Colo goes. I expect on Saturday he'll start kissing babies.
