If we're to escape the dreaded drop again, there needs to be a massive improvement mate and I mean massive. As has been said, we cannot go into games looking to not concede, we have to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and make a fight of it.
I can live with relegation if we go down fighting, but I can't stand to lose and not have tried.

JD has been a revelation for me, as he doesn't seem to have lost anything from where he was before he went off to MLS. He's obviously in great shape and has been busting a gut for us while he's been here. If we do go down, he'll be one player who can walk away with his head held high, notwithstanding that he's a bit of a short-arse

For me you can count on 2 fingers those that can walk away with their heads held high. JD and Pickford.

Why will Defoe stop trying? I don't understand why you would think that is a possibility?
I am of the same mind as the rest of you in that he is professional and will give his all but if we stay up what then? Will he go or will he stay?

His emotional response and attitude since being here don't support your view.
I can see him getting 5 or 6 winning goals but many will differ with that.
