Of course not, what kind of knee jerk reaction is that. One season in the pits with the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and Newcastle is not the end of the world, two seasons would be bad, three unaceptable so i reckon three seasons before you see a change if he doesn`t get it right.

Thought you just said you wanted Moyes to stay
He won't get that long. In fact if there aren't some major signs of improvement I think, rightly or wrongly, he will be ushered out the door in the summer.
However, he's been speaking quite a lot about transfers this last week or so and sounds very bullish about who he wants/thinks he will sign so, based on some recent rumours, I'll play a bit of fantasy football with the squad and what's required.
Goalkeeper is ok, good first choice and decent back up.
Centre half, we need to buy one finished article centre half who will partner Phil Jones. The chopping and changing must end. Evans is first choice back up, Ferdinand retires and Vidic becomes occasional back up or he leaves. We also need to find and promote from within.
Smalling become first choice right back. He makes that position his, Rafael is back up and challenges him for first choice.
We need a brand spanking new left back, Luke Shaw being my personal choice. Evra stays as back up, Buttner goes into the 'not good enough' bin. (he's not alone, more of that to follow). We then need to find and promote from within another left back.
Midfield; Carrick, Fletcher and Fellaini stay as centre midfielders. We also buy one finished article, not sure who as some names are still being bandied about. Gundogan is one, Herrera is another, maybe look at Khedira when he's fit. Another dart at De Rossi? Cleverly leaves, Anderson leaves permanently and Giggs retires.
We bring back Nick Powell from on loan and, here's the big one, let Chelsea have Rooney as long as we've got Mata coming the other way.
We then have Mata, Powell and Kagawa fighting for the attacking mid/No.10 role. If Kagawa hasn't got the stomach for the fight, and evidence suggests he doesn't, he f**ks off.
Out wide is a problem. Is Nani injured or has he simply vapourised? He would be first choice as wide right (if his fitness and attitude are sorted, one last chance) with Januzaj as other first choice. Zaha gets given a chance to show his stuff and Valencia and Young are reserves. If they don't like it they leave, we would then need to buy some more though.
We buy Cavani up front to replace Rooney (rumour has it anyway). RVP then gets fit, if he can't we would also need another finished article but ultimately we need to promote from within for this position/ What's that young lad out on loan? (my f**king memory!!!).
Hernandez and Welbeck are the back up's.
So, it's one top drawer centre forward, one top drawer CM, one top drawer centre half, one top drawer left back and a whole load of shipping out/retiring/swapping and chopping and changing.
If he get the money to do it, then he get's next season to make it all work. If he then f**k's up he gets given the bullet, simple as that.
That is what we need, we're way behind City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and even Liverpool.
The sqaud is fine. Needs tweeking like any other squad does but its not bad at all.
Get shut of Rio, Evra, Buttner, Cleverley, Valencia and Young over the next 18 months and replace with better options.

These players are either gash or at the end of the road. Theres a few players but many already have replacements in the squad.
What we need is quality, nothing less. 3 or 4 players signed over the next 2 or 3 windows. The squad will end up slightly smaller but overall it will be better for it.
Buttner and Young barely play, Evra has been a defensive liability for a while ( signing 2 LB's would resolve the issue here, signing one and using Fabio would also work )
One CB and 2 midfielders.
with Valencia going ( hopefully ) we would probably have to sign a winger. One who is both footed and capable of switching. It would be essential as I would like to see us play through the middle more.
All in all 6 out and 4 in isnt exactly an overhaul. 4 of the 6 are squad players.

Ditto we need a new CD to play alongside terry, a LB to replace/understudy ash,
A quality pivot player to play alongside/rotate with Rambo and matic.
And two new £30m strikers of a Rooney standard.
Then we can smash the league neXt season.
It is only Jose's brilliance that has kept us up there with city so far.

That is an overhaul though as the four or six are all in crucial positions and would be first teamers. It's as I detailed above.
It's not like the first team is fine and we need a few decent squad players to supplement it, it's we've got some decent squad players but need top drawer first teamers to make us competitive.
We need a first team centre half, first team centre mid x 2, first team centre forward (if Rooney does go) and first team left back.
i do hope mr moyes can keep utd up this season, mr moyes will be welcome back at Shrewsbury Town any time. have you thought about a foreign manager? i understand paulo is itching to get your lazy sods up and running!
Whilst fans of other clubs are flocking like vultures to peck at the club that for many seasons has been the dominant club in UK, many such as Bodanki are not blind to United's problems, as is the case with Moyes_2013.
What factors other than Moyes are the cause of the demise of United this season?
There is no doubt that injuries have played a part, but to my mind it has affected the defence more than the attack. Scoring 36 Premiership goals so far compares reasonably with the average over the past 10 years of 76 goals, so the absence of the first choice strike pairing, whist unfortunate, is not a major factor. It is the defence which has been affected most, already conceding 37 goals and making Old Trafford much less of the fortress it once was. For the past 10 years, the average number of goals conceded in a season is 31 - so we have already gone past that with 16 games to go!
Some fans point out that the winning squad of last year needs pruning and an injection of new key players. That is true, but little has happened, although Moyes delighted his former club with £27.5 million for Fellaini, whose performances before he was out for 7 weeks were nothing to shout about.
Refs are the problem according to Moyes. All those in agreement please collect in the telephone box outside the ground next matchday.
So, that said, the buck stops with the manager.
His lack of experience managing a top club, following on from a mediocre playing career, make him vulnerable to criticism when the results are bad. Unfortunately for the club, the team and the fans, that criticism, in my opinion, is completely justifiable.
Does he inspire confidence - no! Will his record attract top players to the club - no! Does it appear that he is molding the team into a solid unit - no! What are his attributes? - none evident!
Say what he wants, there is no way that this season will be rescued. With matches against Arsenal, City, Liverpool and Everton yet to be played, only the most delusional fan (such as moyes_2013) can expect Untd finishing in the top 5 (or 6). That will hit the Glazers where it hurts, diminish the possibility of signing top players and may well consign the club to mid-table status for seasons to come.
