Wumming and rivalry aside, why the **** can't you lads give as much stick to the selfish and stubborn man that put your club in the hands of Moyes, if Moyes is hounded out Fergie should lose his place and vote on the board because it appears he wanted a successor that would keep his achievements in the limelight.
He got it wrong page. He clearly thought Moyes could do it. He can't. Not the first mistake Ferguson has made.
I see your point Ruff but considering the size of MUFC and Fergie's experience its not rocket science to have assumed that in Utd's best interests and to keep the stability that Fergie built that Moyes should have spent at least a season as his understudy. Looking at it from the outside as a non Utd fan I can see the pure stupidity of Fergie being given the choice of successor and him not stipulating that the backroom staff and the training and tactics stay the same.
Prediction time - we're going to get tonked at the Emirates on Wednesday, then Moyes gets sacked by the Glazers. Can only dream.
The similarities with hodgsons pathetic reign at anfield are there for all to see Liverpool went one dimensional, lacking in tempo and little clubs went there unafraid anymore It's just the same with gollom, mans a ****wit Hope he stays for the 6 years of his contact
Maybe true, but then given SAF only decided to retire in Jan last year there wasn't a huge amount of time. Besides which, doing well as an assistant to a great manager is no guarantee of ending up a great manager yourself. Just ask Shteve, Queiroz and now Rene. One look at Chelsea over the past seven years shows you what a disaster that would be. A succession of managers through the revolving door with each one's mandate essentially being to be Mourinho, just more attacking and less annoying. Net result = spent masses of money, won one title, end up back with Mourinho. I'm sure if we kept the same tactics and training then we'd have been more successful this season, but we'd just end up in a long slow decline like Chelsea. At least this way the cracks appear straight away and can be fixed, rather than papered over a little bit less each year.
They would have to pay £20m or more to sack him. And looking at the Glazers and willingness to not let go of their dough he's there for the long haul.
Him just retiring spontaneously with no contingency plan in place was a slap in the face for Utd if that was the truth. An employer would request an employee let them know with plenty of time to find a suitable replacement, which didn't need to be done because Moyes knew he was Fergie's successor before it was made official by Utd, and as such he should have been brought in the previous summer to learn the ropes from the outgoing Fergie. Which ever way you dress it up Swarbs Fergie deserves more stick than he's getting.
I gave up on this thread a while ago because I have already written off the season. But it seems more and more fans are now starting to get worried. The time are that is long gone and the weakness in Moyes as a United manager was very obvious as early as September. But many fans kept preaching the "give him time" BS. I was even called a plstic. I guess we are all plastics now. These are obvious public mistakes made by Moyes: 1. Getting rid of backroom staff - his greatest mistake!! He was too sure of himself. 2. Not giving Zaha a chance when all other options are ridiculously weak 3. His training technique must be questioned. Players seem to be getting injured left, right and center. 4. Why the heck is Valencia playing in RB position? I'm not even sure what the next chapter is at this point. Are we going to see the 'triumph of Moyes' from the depths of despair or are we going to watch United finish in 10th place. This is easily the worst season by a defending Champion but at the same time a very exciting one due to Moyes factor. Every game is now a cup final. No more prawn sandwiches for the fans. Just think of all the points we have lost at home alone. It would have been more than enough to put United right in the mix for the title. A stadium full of 75,000 people yet not a fortress. That is simply unheard of. Anyway, over to Wednesday.
Just about covers it... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ibly-wrong-and-manager-must-deliver-soon.html
