David Moyes has been allowed an extension on his response to the FA, it was supposed to be in today, he's now been given until Monday.

I haven't seen or heard the comment, but Moyes is a Scot, and is country men still walk around in skirts so what do you expect.

I'm a bit late to this but I think they've got it right. It'd be a bit weak to make it a feminism issue (though I'm sure many will delight in doing so) but it's just a really weirdly aggressive thing to say. You can't go threatening people with violence for asking a question. It's even weirder to say it to a woman. Yes, yes, equality etc etc but in our society it is more strange and less acceptable to say to a woman than it would be to a man.
It was always going to happen, a Premier League manager can't go threatening to slap people for asking questions, particularly not women.
He didn't, it was clearly a joke. Everyone there knew it was a joke. A bad joke granted, but a joke nonetheless.
You know, like they do on Top Gear.
You should watch the footage. As BCC says, it was clearly intended as a joke, he quietens his tone and has a smile on his face.
Which doesn't avoid the fact that it was a stupid thing to say and a terrible, awful joke. A DMD standard joke, in fact.
I'm no Moyes lover but those were my thoughts exactly. People seem to enjoy blowing things out of proportion nowadays. It's becoming/has become a ****ed up sad world.
Yeah I saw the footage, and in the context I think it seems really strange. I wouldn't say that, particularly to a woman, because it's just a weird thing to say. Like you say, a really poor attempt at a joke.
He said something stupid, he's now going to get a slap on the wrist and a fine, it's no biggie really.
