Like someone else has said, I’m biding my time on this because I keep remembering different films that I’d forgotten about but left a strong impression at the time.
In the meantime, I just wondered if anyone remembers a film called ‘Duel at Diablo’ starring James Garner, Sidney Poitier and Dennis Weaver? If memory serves me correctly my Dad took me to see the Bond film ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ in Pocklington, where we lived from ‘69-‘72 and it was part of a double bill. Enjoyed both films but always remember turning to my Dad a few minutes into the western and saying “I don’t know if the film’s going to be any good but the music is brilliant’. Turned out it was by Neil Hefti who was one of my Dad’s favourite composers. Happy days!

Correct....Played the hardened cock of the prison who treated Luke like ****, then became his minder. Good film. Was Harry Dean Stanton in it? Might be wrong.
Sorry, can’t remember, will have to Google.
In Charade he played a one armed man with a hook who turned up drowned in a bath.

Sidney Poitier in 'In the Heat of the Night'....Classic movie. Rod Steiger was brilliant in that.
Dennis Weaver in Duel......Spielberg's first full length movie. Another cracker.
Yep, both excellent films. There are so many you could pick but can’t think of too many from more recent times that I remember.
