A guy that hit 1 in 4 in a lower division isn't likely to make a massive impact in a top division immediately after a move at a young age. You've bought him for the future, if you think he's gonna have a big impact on your season next time out you're living in cloud cuckoo land

How many of Celta Vigo and Barca B's games did you watch last season, out of interest?

The same as you, none. Alberto though has yet to score a senior goal and has been bought hopefully for potential, I doubt you will see much of him in the PL. Aspas has played only 1 season in top flight football, scoring 12 goals, I would be surprised if he walked into the PL and set it on fire.

A lot of **** was being slung at Coutinho too before he signed as a "cast off" etc too lightweight bla bla. I think Aspas and Alberto will be solid additions at the very least will retain their value, not like we've broken the bank. Aspas got third highest joint assists and goals in last years la liga after Ronaldo and Messi, he's not a bad punt.

He scored 11 goals (18 assists also) for Barca B, who are a senior side playing in the Segunda.

Your previous comments were definitive in tone, as if your opinion is fact. It is not.

I don't pretend to know how they'll work out <ok>

The fact you're talking about B games and Celta Vigo tells us that we are talking mediocrity otherwise they'd be at decent clubs and in the first 11.

I'm guessing you don't know or haven't cared to find out why Luis Alberto ended up at Barca B and why Barca couldn't sign him (despite wanting to). You should perhaps (as I did) trawl through years of Sevilla fan posts on their forum to get a better picture. Spanish journalists also.

I don't know how he'll do but to reject him now (very young remember) would be extremely premature.

Celta Vigo is Aspas' boyhood club - it may be difficult for a Chelsea fan to understand loyalty ;)... but seriously, Spanish reactions would tell us he's a decent signing. Again I have no idea if this will actually pan out.

Worth noting that Del Bosque defended not picking Aspas (as well as Michu) in his pre-Confederations cup conference. So he's rising in stature.

None of these players that 'Pool are in for can be up to much, because we haven't stepped in to scupper the deals and take the players off their hands (like we did with so many 'Pool targets, last season).

Still, I reckon that any player currently playing in Barca's "B" side has got to be ten times better than the likes of Downing et al.

It's more than possible that 'Pool will be able to nail 6th spot, next season, although I still cannot see them being stronger than Everton.

Like Siggy and Dempsey? <laugh>

Jesus wept - it is possible to take football too seriously you know. Anyway, if Sevilla fans are like most of us why would you take anything they say seriously?

If we ever do finish below Liverpool whilst this forum is still running, all Hell will break loose! <laugh>

I'm shocked.

Liverpool FC have today announced on their official website that they have secured the services of Luis Alberto Romero Alconchel, who played on loan at FC Barcelona B from Sevilla CF last season.

FC Barcelona had a buy option on Luis Alberto until recently, but the club decided not to pursue it, allowing Liverpool to swoop in and transfer him from Sevilla.

The Andalusian passed his medical tests today at Melwood and has put pen to paper on a long term move to Anfield.

Manager Brendan Rodgers stated on the official website: “We are all delighted that Luis has decided to join Liverpool. He has the correct footballing profile and mentality to be a Liverpool player. I look forward to working with him to develop his talent and he joins a group of young exciting players at our club.”

Luis Alberto scored 11 goals and provided 17 assists in 38 appearances for the Barça B side. The transfer sum is believed to be around 6.8 million pounds.

We at totalBarça wish Luis Alberto the best of luck at his new club!
