We didn't lose £8M on Adam.

Sold him to Stoke for £4M and he came in last summer for anywhere between £6M-£9M.

So, at worst, we lost £5M on him. Or, to be slightly more positive, we lost only £2M.

Don't think it was any more than £7m on Adam.

Can I ask you Mousers a serious question?

Do you think that Dempsey is a good signing for us?

Yes. For 6 mil certainly. Lots of Liverpool fans against him coming to us but I would have loved him, knows where the back of the net is and that's what counts.

To the 2 mousers, I thought it was 12, maybe thats what B'pool wanted off us, anyhow, I'm glad you feel so much better about a smaller...loss! <despairinglooksmiley>

Just thought I would leave these here....

Whatever pal, hardcore LfC fans stick together through thick and thin, and then there are those who assoiciate themselves with the club. you can't really describe it, but to the ones who care it becomnes as important as life or indeed death<ok>

And then....

If Micky Owen is ever allowed to join is again after the way he royally ****ed us over I will support City. I meant it, Micky Owen is a manc lad, what part of that don't you get?

If mickey owen rejoins LFC I will get my tatoo removed, burn my LFC tops and support someone else. Did you not see him on the Manchester bench, or did you not hear the tales of him going to Madrid, or the tales of him snubbing Rafa to go to the bar codes because they offered £5k more. Get a ****ing grip bluff. Seriously.

WHAT A HARDCORE FAN HE IS!

Think Rodgers has pulled the strings, perhaps he knew his phone was tapped by Levy and the Spurs scouts.Perhaps he has stiched Spurs up Royal so we can steam in and beat Spurs to fourth.

Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea weaker.

LFC stronger than last year.

CFC, Drogba, only lady boy up front gash. THFC, No VDV or Modric. New signings average, arsenal no RVP who scored all goals. LFC new midfield, Allen, Sahin, Lucas back soon, Gerrard, Shelvey more developed plus Sterling,

Facts.

But possibly the award for the oddest quote of the night goes to this one:

LFC fans are like a family an institution, or to use an other analody, like a hive off bees, the bees work together towards a common cause, if an intruder attacks the hive, the bees fight till death to protect the hive. An intruder or an outsider is easilty spotted.

Ah well, tonights been a laugh, bedtime for moi!

Doubt that's true. Besides, it's not just him that's involved, he just picks the names doesn't he.

Well done on Dempsey, even if he wishes he was wearing the famous red shirt he'll score goals for you. The situation seemed to be that either Ayre was confident of getting Dempsey and Sturridge so Carroll was allowed to leave (but then Chelsea didn't sign a striker and Fulham didn't budge) OR that Dempsey was set to sign but Fulham asked us to pay more than the bid they accepted from yourselves and Villa.

I think the main source of concern from us is that we could very easily be left short up front. This could have been a strong line up:

Suarez - Borini - Dempsey

However, now our combinations are something like the following, and could really be destroyed by Suarez getting injured/Evra:

Suarez - Borini - Assaidi
Suarez - Borini - Sterling
Suarez - Borini - Downing

Assaidi - Suarez - Borini
Assaidi - Suarez - Sterling
Assaidi - Suarez - Borini

Sterling - Borini - Suarez
Sterling - Suarez - Borini
Sterling - Suarez - Assaidi

If Suarez gets injured we basically have to play Borini up front - and whilst he looks promising that is certainly a risk. Beyond Borini we have the teenage sensation Adam Morgan and recent German (Turkish) wonder-kid Samid Yesil. We are taking a huge gamble now on Borini getting 10 or so goals, Assaidi performing well and Sterling having the composure to step up when required. Hmm.

Morgan looked pretty promising against us in the pre-seaon, NI.
You do seem rather light up top though, even compared to us.

Return for Owen and Heskey? <whistle>

If this is true then then FSG are really milking them dry. All these new sponsorship and shirt deals easily cover that.....unless of course these deals aren't as good as the scouse make us believe.

That Bazray is a bigger knob than Arsenal87, and that is really saying something.

On the other hand, when he goes into mental meltdown he is utterly hilarious! Pure comedy gold.

What is so comical, at the moment, is that 'Pool is being so badly run and managed that the Mousers are having every single layer of delusion stripped away, one by one, right down to the the bare reality of the dire state in which their club now rests, and all they have to cling to are the the glories of an ever-dimming past. It is sad and funny at the same time. Shakespeare could not have written pathos any more poetically.

Just funny :smiley-finger007:

For once, I think you are right. <puke>

Anyway, over the whole summer business I think Liverpool and Spurs are quite similar. Light up top, good out wide and in midfield. Good defence. Good job you managed to get Dempsey, if you managed to get Moutinho that really would have made you a lot stronger.

Bazray is KPR isn't he? I take it he didn't leave again afterall. To be fair, most Liverpool supporters are quite embarrassed of him because epitome of everything people laugh about Liverpool fans for.

That said a lot of them seem to think we were nothing more than a desperate backup plan for Dempsey when he couldn't get his dream move to Liverpool. They will never accept that they're not what they once were.

I think you are right. It's a symptom of their mass delusion that any player choosing another club over them had his hands tied, and has accepted second-best. They cannot accept that the player was holding off a move to 'Pool because they are now the second-best option.

Hope not! And I agree, light up top.

Yes, it seems baz is KPR.

Anyway, we can look at this several ways. Disappointed that we haven't got any cover in; glad we didn't shell out what Fulham were asking - we've overspent for too long. Lots of good work done this transfer window reducing the wage bill too - Aquilani, Darby, Ecclestone, Adam, Amoo etc have all left. Kuyt and Maxi were ageing and couldn't continue at LFC, now they're gone.
