Is it though? Not sure you should get one for doing your job, unless your job is one that involves self sacrifice and service. If you have to have them at all, they should be for contributing over and above your job.

He ended up leaving his job as manager during a time when his club were very successful due to the stress of dealing with the aftermath of Hillsborough because of his involvement with and attending most of the funerals and hospital visits to the many injured survivors as well as trying to run LFC.

After his wife successfully beat cancer her, Kenny and their family set up a charity which has saved the lives of local women and girls since it's inception.

On the playing/managerial side, Dalgish won major honours as a player, player/manager and manager, only Ferguson has surpassed what Dalglish achieved.

The honours system is a joke but if it exists people like Dalglish deserve a knighthood if the likes of Trevor Brooking do.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Fair enough, I said after the comment that you quoted, when reminded, that his personal contribution on Hilsborough probably takes him over. His contribution on Suarez not so much. His playing and managerial career, whilst excellent, are just his job. He got well paid for them and I don't believe they merit an award (although I'd prefer the whole thing scrapped personally)

And hey, Brooking scored the winner against Arsenal in the FA Cup final. A knighthood right there.

Coming from Chelsea b team fans that's a bit rich. A certain Gareth Bale still leads the table for yellow cards for diving and he hasn't been in the league for years!
Yes, but Liverpool players don`t get booked for their habitual diving as the majority of referees give them the benefit of doubt, even though they are the biggest collection of cheats in the league.
