Thought this might be appropriate for your mouser watch

As a lot of you know, I work all over the UK, and enjoy the banter with fans from Newcastle to Portsmouth, and from Norwich to Swansea. But perhaps the best ever was two visits to the 051 area. Yes, I know, we all have a cross to bear, but work is work!

A couple of years ago, the area manager, an Everton fanatic, tipped me off that one new premises I had to visit was very close to Anfield and the manager was an RS. So off I went, with a mental note to fumigate the car once I had escaped out of the tunnel into the Wirral. Anyway, when I met the manager, I apologised for being late, and that my sat nav was on the blink. He asked me if I had any bother finding the place, so I replied, nope, I just followed the signs for the trophy free zone. LOL, if looks could kill!

This year was even better, as a new manager was in, and I had been tipped off by Gary the Everton fan that the new manager was a blue, but his assistant was a red.

When we were having a brew upstairs, you could see Anfield in the distance, so I passed a comment that I didn't realise you could see Prenton Park from here. I winked at the manager, but his oppo took the bait hook line and sinker.

"That isn't Prenton Park, thats Anfield" he answered, My response was, oh, really? isn't is small? Then a long pause before the punch line "compared to Old Trafford!"

His face was a picture, even made the trip to that god forsaken area worthwhile.

  7. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, 34, admits he told Luis Suarez, 27, not to sign for Arsenal last summer because the Uruguay forward was "too good for them." (The Times)

    <rofl>
It really does come to something when Slippy-G starts to give you grief!

Obviously didn't follow through his footballer logic there, did Stevie....

Suarez is too good for Arsenal ergo he must also be too good for Liverpool..... So basically Stevie boy told Suarez to go and join a better club as Liverpool are too average.

Saying that a racist cannibal is "too good" for someone is only truthful if describing someone who bites the head off kittens for a living.

  14. United 3 v 1 'Pool

"The Reds and their Mouser fans must have begun to believe their own hype after a flukey Gerrard penalty gave them an undeserved lead. However, the natural order of things was, once again, restored as United began to dominate and take apart their inferior opposition. In what will clearly be viewed as a precursor to the coming season, van Gaal stood head and shoulders above his counterpart, Roy Rodgers, who looked a broken and disconsolate figure in the Reds dug-out. Mousers who have already backed their shirts on LFC having a second successful season were confronted with the full extent of their own folly in brutal fashion, and will, now, be in absolutely no doubt that they will struggle to finish inside the top 8, let alone the top 4. Reality clashed with delusion, in Miami, as a new era of failure loomed for disgruntled Mousers."

You mean you changed "Liverpool" to "LFC" for brevity ??

  16. Well, to be fair, I did take a few liberties with the article. By which I mean to say that there wasn't actually an article.

Having said that, if there had been an article, I reckon it would have said pretty much what I've written.

So you think we won't finish in top 8 HIAG?

Will Spurs finish above us according to your gospel?

    #8477
  18. All joking aside, I think the top 4 will consist of:-

    £ity
    United
    Arsenal
    Chelski

    and probably in that order.

I think Spurs, 'Pool and Everton will be fighting it out for 5th, 6th and 7th spots.

My natural inclination is to believe that 'Pool will finish 7th, because you've lost undoubtedly the best player in the Prem, last season, and without his goals (and with your leaky defence) I simply cannot see you being anywhere near the team you were last season.

It appears that the Mousers are prepared to sell their best goalkeeper to Bayern Munich for just £2m, a strange move letting a 31 year old leave who is still at his peak and a better option than Mignolet imo, surely the Dippers could afford his wages now that they have one season of CL money.

    #8479
  20. Hm.

I rather suspect that the Reds' Yanky owner is more than aware of the fact that 'Pool is facing an early and humiliating exit from the CL, and that they are unlikely to get back in it for some while. Therefore, it's probably considered wise for them to cash in on as many of their bigger assets, now, rather than wait for the arse to fall out of their economic plans.
