Strange this last race. A Carroll had 5 entered and has withdrawn 3. At different times according to oddschecker. Wonder what that's all about. Easydoesit and My lord. Small bet for interest on easydoesit.
Never be persuaded by the price. FFS!!so carroll wins .....with the outsider !
Well she'll have learnt from that Stick. Needs to improve her jumping but that could easily improve with better ground. Very difficult to race in the that ground as a hurdle debutante.
1:30 Plumpton BRANDON THOMAS 10-1 Paddy Power. Form when splitting Highrate and Milano Magic last season reads extremely well in the context of this very average race. That earned him a handicap rating of 103 which he has been unable to cope with but following his latest effort he has now been dropped to a miserly 81. The handicapper dropped him 1lb shy of a stone for his last run and under conditions that have seen him to good effect in the past he has to be given a superb chance and is a tasty each way punt tomorrow.
Well done Bob. That one just saved me from losing all my stake; or did me out of a nice profit, depending on how philosophical I'm feelingI always take on horses stepping up in grade on a three timer so I've had a bet on Virginia Ash to replicate last years win off a 2lb higher mark. Missed the bigger prices Ron mentioned earlier though so 5/1 e/w will have to do.

Oddy....
Sportinglife put this up earlier. If that is the tissue price(9/1) i will certainly be all over that!
Whillans reported: "Meadowcroft Boy has been in grand form since his win at Carlisle. I don't know what the opposition was like, but he won it well enough.
"He jumped well and is very professional. He is like that at home as he works well, but doesn't sparkle. He just does his work and that's it.
"We were thinking of going to Newcastle on Wednesday, but then we thought we would give him a go at a decent race and see how good he is.
"After Saturday, we will know whether we go handicapping or for the better races in the spring, but his bumper form suggests he is pretty good.
"He seems versatile but I would say good to soft or soft ground is fine for him. If it was heavy, I think that would catch him out."
