Cheers Bob. She was a little keen to go with the two principals early doors according to NF. The ground was unsuitable but Charlie wants her to get experience. She was very novice a couple of times (NF said he was nearly off once) but in the main jumped very nicely. They like her at the yard as she is very willing and Charlie is adamant that she will get better and better. Three miles over fences on good ground will be her game. She was absolutely knackered today so I hope she eats up tonight and is none the worse for her exertions.
Just watched the race stick. She was very keen early on. Just the one hairy moment and she did finish very tired. Glad to see NF give her a gentle intro, especially in that ground. Looking forward to some good post race news (ie eating up and looking well and happy with herself).
Well done Bob. That one just saved me from losing all my stake; or did me out of a nice profit, depending on how philosophical I'm feeling
Oddy.... Sportinglife put this up earlier. If that is the tissue price(9/1) i will certainly be all over that! Whillans reported: "Meadowcroft Boy has been in grand form since his win at Carlisle. I don't know what the opposition was like, but he won it well enough. "He jumped well and is very professional. He is like that at home as he works well, but doesn't sparkle. He just does his work and that's it. "We were thinking of going to Newcastle on Wednesday, but then we thought we would give him a go at a decent race and see how good he is. "After Saturday, we will know whether we go handicapping or for the better races in the spring, but his bumper form suggests he is pretty good. "He seems versatile but I would say good to soft or soft ground is fine for him. If it was heavy, I think that would catch him out." Sky Bet Supreme Trial, sponsors prices: 2/1 Un Temps Pour Tout, 11/4 Valseur Lido, 13/2 Stand To Reason, 8/1 Zamdy Man, 9/1 Sizing Tennessee, Meadowcroft Boy, 11/1 Sure Reef, 14/1 Sgt Reckless, 25/1 Its High Time, Abracadabra, 33/1 Big Casino, 50/1 Maybe I Wont, 150/1 River Clare
mate. Just watched a replay of his Carlisle victory and you have to laugh. If that had been a Mullins horse at Killarney he'd be 7/1 fav for the supreme I can't even find a quote for Meadowcroft Boy for the Supreme that may change after Saturday
Your right i have looked about the last 2 weeks and nothing has come up. I presume the bookies just find it impossible to relate the form in any way what so ever. He will end up opening about 12/1 after Saturday
You can get 9/1 tonight with Sky Bet and 1/5 odds for 3 places. Now the field will cut up and that will look superb value given that quote above
Well done with all the winners today guys just got in from work so haven't backed any winners or losers but hope a few won today
If it keeps raining down here though its highly likely you wont see him in the line up, you pays your money!
Thanks Stick for the winner. Appreciated. Keep it up. All the best with your horse. Well done all other winners; Bob, Ron; Badger and anyone else I may have forgotten. Good work.
