It's not just giving reasons though. The players already had too much control at Valencia so it wouldn't have made a difference who went in - they only wanted their pay. The language and culture another reason.
Its all opinions, I actually disliked Gary Neville as a player, but as a pundit and after watching the Salford City documentary, I think he comes across as quite a decent knowledgable bloke. Taking the Valencia job was a gamble that did not pay off, the club was in turmoil, but at least he had the balls to try. Being Woys number 2 was always going to be difficult. I would have preferred Neville being given the job rather than Southgate, but thats just my opinion.
Will be good to see these bitter losers get relegated tonight. Hot on the heels of Scunthorpe's failure last night, it's been a good couple of days......
Potentially being back in the same division as Scunthorpe really depressed me, so well done Millwall. Next season they may be able to throw the seats out of E3 back into the North Stand, that will confuse them.
Victor Moses has been brilliant for Chelsea this season. Plaudits always go to Hazard and Costa, but he's been fantastic.
I've never disputed that he's a good pundit. That doesn't necessarily mean he will be a good manager yet people continue to make excuses for him that other failures are not afforded. Nevertheless, the whole point of this discussion was about a failure at football management telling a success where he has gone wrong, which is undeniabley true.
Who would've said that at the start of the season? Yet Conte was so under the radar as the Pep, Jose and Klopp show rolled into town.
They're the reasons he gave on the first MNF of the season when they looked at his time at Valencia. He struggled with both.
1) He shouldn't have taken the job then should he? 2) Nobody cuts Mazzarri slack for the same reasons, so why for Neville? 3) The same reasons didn't hurt Pochettino did they? People undoubtedly give Neville an easy ride compared to other managers in identical situations because he's nice on the telly.
